For more than a decade, I've been a customer of TVFCU, starting with a student account shared with my mother. Initially, I enjoyed excellent service and personalized assistance when dealing with larger purchases and auto loans. Although TVFCU was slow to adopt features like Apple Pay and improved mobile banking, their exceptional customer service outweighed these drawbacks for me.However, there were some issues with Apple Pay integration, leading to inconsistent acceptance at various stores, causing headaches. When I got married and added my husband to my account, TVFCU couldn't remove my mother's contact details, resulting in her receiving fraud alerts meant for me.Before traveling abroad in 2018, I informed TVFCU to prevent my card from being blocked due to international transactions. Despite assurances, my card was still frozen upon the first overseas charge. The situation worsened when my husband faced the same problem, and customer service couldn't resolve it, leaving us with shared cards for over a year.In December 2022, Amazon notified me of a payment failure, but I received no fraud alert from TVFCU. Upon contacting customer service, they couldn't provide any information. When we accidentally overdrafted the account during a transitional period, TVFCU charged us with multiple courtesy pays and insufficient fund fees.Speaking to Crystal at customer service, she could only reverse three charges and directed us to the Vice President, Linda Elrod, for further assistance. However, we struggled to reach Linda as she had left early for the day. Eventually, when we spoke with her, she displayed poor customer service, accusing us of mismanaging our finances.As a result, my husband and I have opened an account with another bank, but the experience with TVFCU has left us unhappy to say the least. I suggest you use literally any other bank. Any at all. Hide the money under your mattress, just don't give it to TVFCU.
