Very very nice people but it is not cheap. You can very easily find the same quality of staff and service for a lot cheaper than here.

Don’t bother with this place. I made an appointment (Wednesday) to have my dog’s nails trimmed, he needs sedation for it. We got there 15 minutes early to be told they can’t keep the appointment because they had emergencies come in so they’re “much further behind than they would like.” So can I come in Friday? I understand the nature of emergencies, but I also understand the importance of not wasting people’s time. They could have called to say they needed to cancel before I packed up my anxious dog to waste my time bringing him in there. It’s a phone call, you have a receptionist for a reason.

Gale at the desk was so helpful dealing with an out of the box pet issue. I was in and out quickly and able to visit with some darling dogs! Thank you Richmond Hill Animal Hospital for helping travelers in need.

Disappointed is an understatement! I brought my dog there for an urgent situation. They ran numerous diagnostic tests before ultimately sending him to the ER. The issue was their lack of financial transparency regarding the work up. The vet and staff never brought up cost and two weeks later I received a ridiculously high bill. Even though their policy is to review cost before completing services they failed to do so and had no solution. It is unfortunate that a lack of office policy adherence resulted in my financial burden.

I cannot say enough good thing about doctor Amanda, she is amazing and compassionate. She saved my dogs life when another vet in the area wouldn't help. When my elderly dog was sick towards the end she did everything she could to make her last days with us comfortable. My current dog loves her, he is always happy to see her, I trust them 100% great team!

I don't post reviews>normally. Now that I have mostly recovered from my experience at R.Hill Animal Hospital and my encounter with Dr. Amanda .Welch ,a vet there; I am ready to share my experience and I hope that my review will Prevent and protect any Other pet owners from the pain and anguish I endured. I am not going to complain and tell a long story about the day my pet Jada, suffered and died. I was not given any pain medication, the day my dog was diagnosed with cancer, but told to return in 3 days, very bluntly, no sign of ANY compassion. My dog Jada suffered for 7 hours[1am >8am] , the 2nd day [closed when this started] With no pain meds, or doctor available, I couldn't comfort Jada & had to watch her slowly move from room to room >While she died. when I took her in at 8am, Vet Would not take even a few moments to speak with me and finally returned my calls after 3 days ignoring them. 11/29/23Kate: Office managerI'm responding to your reply just now. First, I was not told anything about a biopsy scheduled; She was vomiting but you STILL gave me pills that wouldn't even touch her body's terminal condition and were vomited right back up! I wasn't told that I could come right back BEFORE my scheduled appointment in 3 days. I TRUSTED Dr. Amanda Welch completely. I will never trust another vet completely like I did that day. There were three days that went by where the doctor did not at least text me a reply when we could talk. No excuse for that. I'm a teacher and when a child needs extra help for time with me that doesn't involve my regular schedule > I respond. Jada did not get a chance to die with dignity and without pain. The next morning, I was not offered no sympathy or empathy for me. When I was waiting at the counter the next morning, I had a stranger say something to me and showed empathy that none of you showed me as I stood there so distressed and alone. I know I'm not the only one that this has happened to . I'm know there are other negative experiences like mine that have not been posted or addressed . I failed my dog Jada as she unnecessary suffered for 8 hours before her death. because of you and your Hospital. *One more message for the Doctor: If you had so much experience and supposedly knew what was in store for my dog, why didn't you take the time to discuss my options, [ one being> to put my dog down that day] with me instead of sending me on my way like she had months to live. Please think twice the next time you're in this situation again so that no one else has to suffer> human or pet. I've had four other dogs in my lifetime and experienced overwhelming compassion for me and my dog at their times of dying. The matter of fact way you told me my dog had cancer and then left the room made me sit there and wonder is this the way you handle telling someone their dog was dying.?? Please learn from this and strive to be a vet that includes compassion and a thorough discussion of the animal's condition and expectations in your practice. Thank you for listening, J.Lotito*** Please don't attribute the vet shortage to how you treat, communicate, and care for your clients and patients. We are all in this together and we should all still strive to be the best we can be and do the best we can do, in this uncertain world! I continue to strive to learn from my mistakes and experiences. Think about it..
