If I could give 0 stars, I would! Tonight was the night that I decided I will never come to Publix Pharmacy in Richmond Hill again because of the pharmacy associate by the name of Megan. I feel the way she treats me is due to her being judgmental and her being prejudice towards me for the medication that I am having to take. This evening, was particularly even more malicious on her part than she has ever been towards me before. Previously, Megan has caused me multiple issues about getting my prescriptions filled in the past, but tonight, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, she blatantly lied. I called about a prescription that was called in by my doctor days ago to see if it was ready and asked why I had not received the text that normally alerts me that a medication has been filled. Keep in mind, I have had this medication filled at this pharmacy on other occasions. I had also explained to Megan that it could be under my new married name, since I recently changed my last name on my license. I had to explain this to her when giving her my date of birth, and telling her to be aware that my name is now different on my license and insurance. When I spoke with Megan about this, she said it was not filled because my “Insurance required a pre-authorization since it’s such a high dosage”. Keep in mind it’s not a high dosage. And with any prescription I have to be cautious not to have anything too strong since I have medullary sponge kidney disease. And just for full disclosure, this prescription was for Tylenol 3. Not Percocet. Not morphine. It was and has been simply Tylenol 3. I mentioned to her that my insurance had never required a prior authorization before and she said “it’s because it’s a new year and the insurance changed”. She then told me that the pre-authorization form was sent over to my doctor on February 13th, 2024 and they had never received it back and told me to call them in the morning and that I’m not allowed to get my prescription until they receive that form from the doctor for my insurance.. I took it upon myself to call my doctors office who does have on-call staff to check for these things. They said nothing had been sent over. So, as strange as I realized this was, I took it upon myself to call my insurance company. While speaking to the insurance representative, I asked them if I required a pre-authorization all of a sudden for this prescription. They stated that I do not need a pre authorization at all and said a pharmacist would know this.. Keep in mind I pay a lot of money for my health insurance. So it’s not Medicaid. It is high-quality insurance, and I have to have high-quality insurance not just for myself, my kids, and my husband, but especially because my oldest child has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy, PET Scans, and much more. While on the phone with the insurance representative, I called on a three-way call back to the Publix Pharmacy in Richmond Hill, GA. Megan answered the phone again. I let her know that I was on a three-way call with my insurance company and they can verify to her that I do not require any pre-authorizations for my medication. Megan became very defensive, raised her voice at me, and was very unprofessional and rude. Megan kept talking over me and claimed that she never said that the insurance needed prior authorization, but that the pharmacist required it because it’s a new name. I then reminded her that in our last conversation, I clearly informed her of my name recently being changed and she said I didn’t tell her that, which was a LIE. She then shouted at me “Well, I’m getting it ready now, so it’s no big deal!” Megan was so angry that she had been caught in her lies, prejudice, and manipulations and in return had to fill my prescription. I then told her that I will be switching pharmacies for myself and my family. She never even attempted to apologize for the way she treated me and continued to treat me. Nobody should be treated like garbage for trying to get their prescription filled. She treated me as though I was a drug addict. Megan is a terrible person!

Publix in Richmond Hill, GA, is a top-notch grocery store that always impresses. Every time I visit, I'm greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere, making it a pleasure to shop there. The staff at Publix in Richmond Hill are accommodating and courteous. They are more than willing to help me find a specific item or have a question. Publix's BOGO (Buy One, Get One) deals and weekly specials are fantastic for saving money on groceries. I always find great deals on items I regularly purchase, making it a budget-friendly shopping experience. Their customer service truly sets this store apart from others.

While overall I do recommend Publix I will have to save that there is one item that I’ve noticed is SIGNIFICANTLY higher there than Kroger, Walmart, or any liquor store in Richmond Hill. That item is La Marca Prosecco. It is consistently $6/bottle higher than Kroger and around $4/bottle higher than the local liquor stores. The manager told me that Kroger, and apparently the local liquor stores are just losing money. It kinda makes me wonder how many other items the other stores are “losing money” on.

Being they are more expensive then anyone else in the savannah area you would think you would at least get kick azz service. I live here and really only try to shop there out of convenience. Today went and got some ham and cheese from the deli counter and idk if the older woman thought she was pulling one over on me but she asked if I wanted my ham sliced thinly which yes I do. She sliced it thin and showed me. And then doubled the thickness so she could slice the ends. I got a gross cut of meat that cost $13/lb. Gmab guys and cut the lazy southerner routine…. Oh the worthless child bagger could at least hand me my bag instead of leaving it on the other side of the register area….

I’ll never understand why a pharmacy will tell you 30-45 minutes when your here waiting. I walked up and the pharm was eating. I asked about it and they told me 30-45 minutes. I worked in a pharmacy and my aunt has been a pharmacist for 15+ years. I know that it doesn’t take 30-45 minutes to fill a prescription for someone who is waiting. Highly disappointed. I’m in so much pain I’m crying to the lady and I just got a sorry. Ridiculous. They may have got it in 5 minutes but they should never tell someone 30-45 if that’s inaccurate

Publix prepared three sub platters and two cakes for me for celebrations we had a few weeks ago. Everything was fresh and delicious. The subs were packed with meat and the bread was amazing. The deli and bakery employees went above and beyond helping us prepare for our events. Thank you so much.
