I couldn’t possibly recommend Maven Sport horses more enthusiastically. Hannah Rickles is an awesome rider, trainer, owner of Cheval Noir, and a very impressive person! Calm, no nonsense environment. The horses get the best of personal care and from someone who puts the horses well-being FIRST!

Absolutely love Maven and all of the amenities that it includes! Such a great barn with amazing pastures and indoor/ outdoor arenas. My horse is happy and healthy and my mind can rest easy knowing that my horse is being looked after with the utmost care! This place has such a positive atmosphere with a great barn family dynamic where you know you can relax and just have fun with your horse and barn mates! Hannah, the head trainer and barn manager, is AMAZING! She works hard to make sure your horse is content and sound! So glad to be apart of this facility!

If you are looking for a barn with individual care for your horses, Maven is awesome. Clean, sturdy, well made stalls, lots of pasture space and options, and an indoor arena to ensure that work with your horse is never interrupted by weather. Hannah is a great barn manager who listens to the needs of her boarders and provides excellent care. She's also a great trainer and rider, and can whip your mount into shape. Lessons are now available, so don't miss your opportunity to join the Maven!

My 13-year-old OTTB is a HOT MESS. We have struggled for years with lameness issues and various mishaps and have not been able to string together a decent period of consistent work. Until Maven! Hannah (the barn manager) is so attentive and figured out a significant diet issue I had no idea we were dealing with. She adjusted my boy’s feed and he looks amazing! And he holds his shoes now and is sound! Hannah also works with him regularly and I always know - without asking - when she’s been riding him because he is much more responsive and balanced. Corrie (the owner) and Hannah both have been incredibly supportive of Willy and me through some very tough times. When I’ve had a boatload of personal issues to deal with, I haven’t had to worry about my boy! I know he is safe, happy, cared for, exercised, and loved. Add in a GREAT group of girls who make going to the barn SO much fun and you have the PERFECT horsey home! Love this place!!

I absolutely loved my summer at Maven with Hannah! As a college student home for the summer, it has been a wonderful place for my pony, and I can’t wait to be back next summer! Hannah is a FABULOUS trainer and has helped me so much with my pony! Super place with awesome people!!

Maven is a wonderful place for my very sensitive mare. The individual care and attention she gets is priceless. When it comes to Hannah’s training methods and capabilities, the difference I feel in her on the ground and under saddle speaks for itself. This is a wonderful and welcoming environment for adult amateurs and I highly recommend it!

Talented instructor but often made last minute cancellations thus making it difficult to be consistent for my daughter. When I called her out on this to hold her accountable, she accused me of being passive aggressive and terminated her services with my daughter. My daughter is the sweetest girl you’d ever want to meet and was hurt by this. She hasn’t been on a horse since despite her passion and desire for it. A true professional would have had a face to face meeting with customer to discuss the concerns versus deciding to not deal with it at all, insult the customer then terminate the service.

If you want the peace of mind I have been enjoying for almost a year now, Maven Sport Horses is for you. I came to Maven one year ago, having just moved down from Long Island. While it was under different management at the time, which was still great, my mare Vada instantly calmed and settled. This says a great deal as she is a severely abused OTTB who came into my care three years ago. I looked at her for the first time and made a seemingly impossible promise that she would never, ever have to feel that way again. When a horse isn't in your direct care you can't guarantee this, right? Well, with excellent trainer Hannah Rickles and amazing owner, Corrie Tabb, you can more than bank on it, you can guarantee it. Vada is not easy to handle and will react out of fear. She quickly gets higher strung the less daily touch and care she has, and it will immediately show in the form of intense anxiety, dangerous behavioral problems, pacing, mild colics, whole nine yards. She was truly happy at Maven because these things rarely happened. She was at her best version of peace. I had many problems over the summer and fall and could barely make it out to the barn. Throughout that time, (then assistant) trainer worked with Vada every day, putting hands on her, even pulling her mane and keeping her completely groomed for me. She held her for the farrier as Vada tried to put more than one farrier's assistant through the wall. Not easy tasks. No questions asked. In December, Hannah took over as trainer/manager full time for Maven. I could have moved like half of the barn did to follow the previous trainer, but I chose to stay on because Hannah had proven to me that she cared with a fierce heart for the equines in her program, including my little poor confirmation and slightly insane OTTB amongst a sea of gorgeous (and not crazy) warmbloods. She was no less important than any other Grand Prix horse in that barn. I had then acquired a second horse, Logan and was living the life. Then, the government shut down and as a contracted defense contract writer, it ruined me financially. Corrie not only worked with me but showed compassion and cared through the months-long ordeal of me scraping together the board money. Most barn owners would put a lien on your horses and make a bad situation worse. Never did that occur, and never did my horses care decline because I wasn't able to pay. Bottom line is if you are a helicopter horse mom or dad, or if you are an owner that can't make it out very often, or have changing life circumstances and need a safe spot you can trust, THIS IS THE BARN FOR YOU. We all know how crazy the people of the horse world are, you have to be I guess, right? Well, being at a barn with zero drama and nothing but kind and compassionate people who are simply there to be with the animals that make our lives go round is a breath of fresh air. Did I mention Hannah is a kick-ass trainer and incredibly knowledgeable horse person? So, yeah, if you don't have a 7-year-old high stress and formerly abused chestnut OTTB mare, you may even enjoy her training! If you've been on the fence about going to see Maven, go. I urge you. And be sure to say "Hi" to Vada. Please bring butterscotches for her full attention.
