I have used Fricke & Associates for 10+ years and they have recently gone downhill in the worst way. My parents used an accountant with them who was wonderful for 30+ years. So when I turned 18 I filed my income taxes with him as well. This past year he retired and my paperwork was given to the firm. Not only were there mistakes on my personal filing, but when I called to get it fixed the secretary told me the person that had filed my taxes had been fired. This was not very reassuring as this person did not even call me about my return and who knows what other mistakes he had made to be let go. I could not believe that the firm did not plan on telling me any of this. The accountant we worked with for 30+ years always called me before filing to go over everything. This past year 2023 they took about 2 and a half weeks to even call me back after I called into the office multiple times. It's a real shame as Fricke and Associates use to have such a good reputation in Atlanta. The quality has gone downhill. I even reached out to Ted (Owner) about this and while he was polite and professional he did not really have an explanation or solution to how I've been treated. Also the price for a single person filing has been the same price every year since I was 18. I turned 30 this year and the cost had doubled, I did not even speak to the accountant who handled my filing, I have a simple filing of a single 30 year old male with one job making less than 50k per year so my filing is as simple as it gets. I don't think it justified a $200 increase. My family and I will be moving on.

Dr. Bill Harris and I practiced together at Emory University Hospital Midtown for about 20 years. Dr. Harris used Fricke and Associates for his accounting needs for many years. He was always praising their services. When my accountant tragically passed away in 2016 I went with Fricke Associates. They have always done a great job for me. Even though I retired in 2020 I still benefit from their services. I highly recommend Fricke and Associates without any reservations whatsoever.

All of the most recent reviews could not be more accurate. I have been using this firm since the past merger with my last accountant (4-5 years I believe). The first few years it was okay, and the last 2 years service has gone completely down hill, and I was really trying to give benefit with all that went on with COVID and shortage of employees. The increase and inconsistency in charges compared to the work done (not counting how many follows up I had to do to get corrections) is the final straw and not a single client of mine will be returning. Highly suggest if you do choose to use them, ask for details regarding how they charge you prior to the work and a deadline when things can be completed. Also be sure to double check over ALL returns to make sure the did not make any mistakes (2020-2021 came back from IRS with mistakes and 2022 I caught mistakes prior to signing).

Severe Negligence and Unfulfilled Promises:Our relationship with this accounting firm has taken a turn for the worse, and I feel obligated to share our experience to caution others in Atlanta. We had been loyal clients for years, satisfied with the service provided. However, following an ownership change, the quality of service we received plummeted drastically. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with their team, we were met with silence and disregard. This firm was entrusted with our business year-end, an absolutely critical task. However, they failed to deliver the promised services. This negligence resulted in a late filing of our year-end, resulting in our business being hit with penalties and fines.(We had to find another firm) This level of incompetence from a supposedly reputable accounting firm is entirely unacceptable.Furthermore, in an alarming turn of events, they are now attempting to bill us for services they did not complete, despite having sent us an email promising a credit to our account. They have shown no hesitance in threatening us with collections, a move that starkly contrasts with their inability to respond to our previous communications. We have ample documented proof to support all these claims, providing a clear record of their failure to deliver on promises and their total disregard for our multiple attempts to communicate. This firm, once reliable, has lost sight of its duty to its clients in the wake of an ownership changes. As businesses, we count on our service providers to uphold their responsibilities - a standard this firm has sadly failed to meet.

Like many previous reviews, I have been with this firm for a number of years. However, it has taken forever to get our tax return filed and it was incomplete. Unbelievable. The service is really bad. You do not anticipate any timely response from this firm!

I don't want to ramble on their services, but services are extremely inadequate! They do not return your phone calls and delay your tax filings indefinitely. You pay so much money for such terrible experiences. Not worth it.

Like a previous reviewer, we have been with this firm for a few years and our accountant retired. We were so sad to lose him because he was phenomenal. We did not have a good experience at all with the 2022 tax season. After our taxes were filed (hopefully) another accountant from the same firm contacted us and said he was doing our taxes. And now they are trying to bill us twice. Hoping to find a new CPA next year.

I would not recommend this firm to anyone! I have been using this firm for many years. But this year, our experience with them was horrible. After we submitted all our documents, we received no response from this firm about filing our tax returns. Our repeated phone calls and emails generated no response, whatsoever.

Don't use this firm if you expect prompt and correct service.TLDR: Last year, our tax preparer at this firm, who had been with us fof the last 7 or so years, retired shortly after preparing our 2021 returns. At the time he indicated our files would be turned over to a certain accountant who, like him, had a lot of experience. This year, we came to find our accountant, charged with preparing our 2022 returns, was a young pup still wet behind the ears. This individual was not who we thought was going to be our accountant, based on the information we had received in 2021. We met with him in plenty of time to prepare our 2022 returns. When we received the forms back, they were wrong. We were assured they would be corrected in time to file by the deadline. They were not. Now we are being penalized for late filing fees. In addition, in this second-time-around, the forms are.(that's right, you guessed it) incorrect, again. If I could give this firm 0 or negative stars for a rating, I would. Needless to say, we will not be using their services for our 2023 returns.

Never again. We were recommended this firm by our union because they do a lot of film crews' taxes. Our CPA was unorganized, unresponsive, asked for our daughter's social security number multiple times in the same email thread and just generally dismissive of our questions. It was almost 6 weeks of back and forth for a relatively simple return. In the end, we still had not gotten confirmation that our taxes were actually filed by 4/18 so I pulled the plug. I can't justify paying someone to ignore me and my family for weeks on end only to try and say I didn't provide the information requested (that I resent 30 min after receiving the email request). Super disappointed and a huge waste of time and gas.

4 accountants in 3 years. I provided feedback/corrections to one year's tax return over 2 weeks ago; nothing at all since. They did complete it quickly, but nothing whatsoever since. No response to any emails. Very, very, disillusioned with this company.

Seek tax preparation and accounting advice elsewhere. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this company after my CPA firm was absorbed into it. Poor customer service (essentially none), high turnover of employees (so you rarely spoke with the same person twice), high level of errors with no accountability or corrective action. A poorly run organization from the top down.

Would think for fifteen hundred dollars could get an email response when the return was done incorrectly, was left scrambling to fix on my own. Thought by using a local accounting company could have an open line of communication about how to reduce tax burden, that was a serious misjudgment on my end. I consistently have more positive service experiences at the DMV than I had here.

Avoid. Don't know if it's growing pains or shrinking pains but the firm has gone downhill in the 2 years we've used them. Sloppy, inconsistent work and little to no follow up. Have reached out to Ted directly and have been told it's all based on the move. Last year with these folks, moving on.

Avoid. Sloppy organization. Little to no follow up. Staff rotating constantly tells you it's a mess there. Ted, the owner rarely responds and blames their sloppiness on a December move. Wouldn't recommend.
