South hall vet is a Awesome place to bring your animals i have had nothing but wonderful experiences ❤️ with them they are kind and gentle and loving with every dog i have brought in i cant say enough wonderful things about them.

First of all the staff is great! very professional & very compassionate. The doctor… not so much. It’s a Monday morning and I brought my cat in for a possible UTI And I did not have an appointment & I know that’s on me and I fully accept that . I also told them I was willing to leave him with them and come back later in the day if need be if They had a chance to work him in.As I sat in one of the examination rooms I could hear the doctor constantly griping and complaining about me through the ultra thin walls and doors in her office with her mega LOUD voice because I was a walk in ! I sat there and listened as in between helping those that did have appointments She would continue to complain about me… I’m hearing all of this… So I finally got my cat and I told her I’d go somewhere else… And she said that’s fine you’re going to find the same situation anywhere you go… She said “you need to know the truth“ and I told her the truth is there’s a different way to handle Customer Service she could’ve easily Came to me and told me sorry I don’t have any appointments today you’ll have to bring him back etc. etc. and that would’ve been fine but instead she chose to complain about it throughout her entire office for everyone could hear and try to degrade me and humiliate me in the process. Then she repeatedly kept saying “you need to know the truth” and I told her the truth is you’re not a nice person!Absolutely horrible doctor. She’s old and cranky and either needs to reevaluate & refine her Customer Service skills or do everyone a favor & retire. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Dr Townsend is a rude, arrogant and mean person. I have never see someone be so cruel to an animal. I know, I am no vet. But I definitely know it is wrong to cut a dogs toe so deep he needs staples in his foot. I was told a old scab on my dogs foot would need to be removed. The only reason I brought him in was my dogs groomer has seen the scab the past couple times he'd been groomed so she advised me to get it checked out! It didn't bother him he never messed with it. Till now. Now he has two staples in his paw. It's wrapped completely and he was put in so much pain today for what..? They didn't test the scab to see if it was cancerous. Dr Townsend practically rolled her eyes when I asked if it could be cancer. I will never be back. And dr Townsend should never be allowed around animals ever again. Call me a crazy dog lady if you will but what my dog was put through today was absolutely NOT CALLED FOR. Oh and I got charged $150 ..? To put my dog through hell... Her employees were amazing they always are. There's new people in there every time I go in. If you're thinking about bringing your animals here... don't... Dr Townsend has always been rude and always will be. If you want a vet that only cares about how fast you can swipe your card... she's the one for you

I can not say enough wonderful things about South Hall Vet. The staff are amazing with my dog. They are always willing to work around my schedule. The prices are reasonable as well. We have been going here for several years and are happy with our experiences.

I found South Hall Veterinary after our previous service at Gainesville Veterinary Hospital was dismissive and took financial advantage of us during some crucial health concerns. The team at south hall gave us a thorough examination and a comprehensive explanation of what was going on with my sweet pup Winky. They will truly treat you as family and not take advantage of you financially. 10 out of 10 recommend! I look forward to a continued relationship with the doctor and staff here.
