Lanier Federal is the best credit union around! Best customer service, the girls are so sweet! They have a new location in Jefferson now also! You wont be disappointed! They have checking accounts, cds, bank to bank transfers, Zelle and more! Just like a bank but 10,000x better. There is always a teller to help and you dont have to talk to a robot on the phone. 10/10!!

Lanier Federal Credit Union is my #1 Credit Union. I have visited the Gainesville and Oakwood branch and I look forward to visiting the newest branch in Jefferson. Each time I have received exceptional service! They treat you as a guest not just a customer. I certainly feel welcomed at Lanier Federal Credit Union. The lending department has been great assistance with helping myself with all my loan needs. Answering all my questions and being patient. I could not believe the competitive rates! Some of the other credit unions could certainly take some notes from the talented Lanier Federal Credit Union.

My husband & I have been coming here for a 3+ years now. We opened a savings account here for our 3 year old son after his first birthday. At the beginning, we had great customer service & no issues.Fast forward 6 months. Our now 1 year old received money for Christmas & we wanted to open a savings account for him. The first time I tried to open an account, I got to the bank not long after it opened. I was told to come back after 2:00pm because "there weren't enough people there to help me open an account." I was busy that day, so I came back a few weeks later around 10:00am. I was told the exact same thing. A few months later, same problem. Mind you, there were 3+ people behind the front counter & 2+ loan officers in their offices. THIS IS THREE TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT.I went today for the fourth & final time. I got to the bank around 10:45am. I asked if I could open an account for my son. I was told "there wasn't enough time to open an account because the employees took lunch starting at 11:00am." There were 4 people behind the counter, 2 people at the window, and at least 2 loan officers there. You're telling me there wasn't a small amount of time that could be taken to make a deposit? What, does the entire bank close down for lunch? I'm sorry, but that is the most asinine thing I have ever heard of. At that point, I asked to close my account with this bank. Mind you this process took 15+ minutes. In the time it took the teller to close my account, I could have opened an account & kept bringing my services to this location. I'm honestly just in shock at how ridiculously horrible the customer service is.In my experience with businesses, customer service matters. I'm assuming lunch breaks are more important than a valued customer nowadays.Needless to say, we will never be back and will never recommend LFCU to anyone.

Unfortunately we had to close out an account and take our banking elsewhere. We attempted to open an account 4 time at the oakwood branch and no one was willing to open a savings account for our 1 year old son. Very disappointed. On the last try there were 9 people at the bank and not a single person willing to do there job. How are they still in business.

I filed an online application for an auto loan. Two days later a loan officer, Damien, called me back. He stated that he would run some numbers and get back to me that afternoon. He's never called. I have attempted to reach a human in the loan department since with no result...until today. And that's after I chose another option than the loan department and a human came on the line. I informed her of my need to speak with someone who could get my loan completed. She came on the phone and told me she would transfer me to Mr. Jones. However, when she transferred me, she transferred me to Damien...the same guy that has not returned his call as he said he would and the same one who has not answered the phone at his desk this morning. I let Damien know I'm carrying my small $130,000 car loan elsewhere and I hung up.

I have been a member of this credit union for a long time. I like that I can call and make transfer of funds. However, they have something with paper bank statements. They just stopped sending them because it is convenient for them but not for me. They told me to check with the post office because it is not their fault I am not receiving them. Really? Their costumer service can be horrible if you ask for hard copies of your bank statements. At least ask me first, if I use my bank statements.Hanging up on clients is not nice at all just because you can’t answer my question. Really poor ethic from your employees!

Great Customer Service, In-Person experience is always welcoming. Any actual banking however is impossible for me. No other external accounts are able to find them for simple transfers. Need a loan? Haha…They care about their members so much they want to protect you by just rejecting you, with 0 interest of working with you even when you provide clear proof of everything necessary for what you’ve applied for..Covid is a good excuse for anything else other than your previous year tax returns being off because your business was mandatorily shut down! So basically this credit union is a big waste of my time mostly because I can’t even transfer my owner draws or use the mobile check deposit, it always fails, Zelle doesnt work either half the time, everyone has issues sending me payments. I’m highly upset with my decision to start banking here and Beyond frustrated with my Pointless accounts.

My husband and I had a joint checking account. They allowed him to remove my name from the account and I was never notifiedWe also had a credit card that started out as a prepaid card which was my idea in order to bring our score up some I put up the money for the credit card in the beginning it was a prepaid credit card it was in my in my husbands name and then before he ever filed for divorce he went in there and had my name removed And they said that he paid off the credit card but they disabled my card I know he did not have the money to pay the credit card off so basically they tell me a story I truly believe that they move the ballots to a new account and took me off the credit card completely I’m filing a complaint with the Federal banking commission and if that doesn’t fix the problem I’m going to file suit I will be closing my account they have pretty much taken sides in this divorce situation and gave me the wrong end of the deal it is not appreciated

3 stars when I want to give it a 2 but I opened the account very recent after being referred by a friend. Opening easy, the lobby was clean, cozy & staff was welcoming anytime I had gone in. The online banking or app is very frustrating, the routing number isn’t conveniently anywhere. It always says I have the wrong password & when I reset it, it says I can’t use the same password. It hardly ever lets me log-in anyways, it always says there’s a problem to try again later when it’s fixed. My review is from my experience applying for a loan.First, she refused to accept my IRS Transcript for my tax return. I had to literally retrieve the original w4 from another state (the tax service had issues with online accounts security and my local branches were closed)When I finally got it submitted I was immediately denied because My business showed a loss. All of my other income was completely disregarded since I had my own business (even though I was doing the exact same job in a different building that was just mine 4 miles away) which makes 0 sense to me..Obviously there are start-up cost & I was only opened 5 months by tax season & still worked my other job during one of those months? Anyway, I would have STILL been understanding IF I had not asker her BEFORE jumping through hoops to get this specific W4 document, if it was going to effect anything being that I did open a business mid year on top of having Covid related restrictions that lowered my overall income & my taxes for that specific year looked iffy. She ASSURED me my income was already verified with paystubs, the w4 was only needed to have on file because it was the banks policy. So, after the denial, with the reason as my income was solely based on line “ “ on my schedule C I obviously bad questions for her about what she had said previously… I got no response to my email. I called and she told a coworker to send me to her voicemail and have me leave a message because she was busy and would call back within the next day. She failed to respond again. To be clear I am not upset I was denied after My application was accepted, I just find it unprofessional to avoid someone simply asking for a detailed explanation after they were told something that turned out to be untruthful.

Executives hide or leave early, and take a lot of vacation time when there is a problem. An ongoing problem with my account since the update in September 2021. Ridiculous that I have to call in to reset the password every month to review accounts. Also interesting is that in 2022 an app is not facing id or fingerprint compatible even though there are options for it. Instead of working on the issue, they want customers to sign in every time there is a need to review accounts. THEN what is the purpose of the APP? I was hoping this would be a different kind of bank as promised when I signed up, it is not looking that way. ...

I used to love this bank. Now it’s all about charging overdraft fees even when your account shows you have an available balance. Absolutely crazy. Would not recommend to an enemy. Closing my accounts and moving to another credit union that values its members.
