The company did not refund me on items that were damaged.

Patrick and Quan did an amazing job with my move, up to and including that wrapping my items up completely and tight, then setting things in their place at the end. I was very, very pleased with the work they did and I would highly recommend.

First, the movers are not trained. Very sloppy work. Second, thy charge upfront for how long they believe it will take to unload ur things. In my case thy charged me 850.00 upfront but completed the job in less time. I was supposed to get a refund of $150.00; which I hv yet to see. I hv a Rcpt from the lead mover named Patricj that dat tht day tht shows the refund i should rcv. Me and my fiancee hv called the company numerous times, left messages, and hv been completely ignore. I hv complained with the BBB, which mover academy op mgr Alonzo loves to speak abt thr rating. I want my money back. This has been an issue since Oct 20, 2019.

They showed up 2 hours after promised time and 1 man short. They didn’t inform us that we would have to disconnect appliances and electronics. They didn’t bring enough moving runners for the stairs and carpet. At the end of this event, my sons iPad is missing. They didn’t call me to let me know that they were behind schedule. I had to call to find out if they were coming. At that time, they informed me that a member had a called out and they were running late and would be one man short. I understand that these things happen, and tried to be as helpful as possible while I was able to be present. We had to leave my oldest son there to direct them since they were late, so that we could go to the first of 2 closings. When we left the only people in the house were my son and the movers, and his iPad was present at the time. When they got to the new house, my son mentioned that he couldn’t find it. I told him maybe they picked it up and put in on the truck. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.During the move, I noticed a strange car had pulled up to the street in front of my house, and that the members of the moving company were running to the car. Before they left that evening, and after I had already tipped them... I realized that the iPad had not shown up and I asked them to please check the truck again. It was not in the truck.I have called the company to discuss this missing ipad and my experience. That was 10 days ago now, and have not heard back anything regarding our missing iPad and have not been offered any reconciliation. I have never left a negative review like this before, but I would hate for someone to have the same experience that we had. I’m hoping that this review will help someone in the future.

**** PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY*****I used Movers Academy for a move last month and had the worse experience ever. There was information that was withheld about what was going to take place during my move up to the last minute. When I tried to cancel they withheld my deposit and refused to return it. I asked repeatedly if I can speak mover coordinator but got nowhere with my request. If I have known the full terms for my move in a timely matter I would have cancelled. The movers did finish an hour early than what was expected which lead to a refund for an hour of work but I have yet to receive my refund. Again, my move took place mid-October. So far, I have called and called and left voicemails for Alonzo which is the operations manager and still waiting on a call back and my refund. Alonzo stated to me that they are an honest company but with lack of response I have been convinced otherwise. I strongly advise you not to use this company ever for your moving needs.

Mover's academy seems like a great option for a reasonable price, however you get what you pay because the lack of communication is astronomical. The movers showed up over an hour late and never called me to give an ETA even though they said they would. When they got there, they worked hard and everything was fine. However, they then showed up about an hour late to my new location as well, yet only gave me a credit of less than half an hour. Fine, they were getting it done. What they don't tell you when you book with them and pay the deposit, is that they give an estimate of how long it will take to complete the job and you have to pay that full amount before they take anything off the truck, but they say you will get a refund if they finish early. They way overestimated time by 2 hours, or $300. It's been 2.5 weeks and I have yet to see my refund. I have called every day and only get the voicemail and never a call back. The manager Alonzo, said he remembers I should have gotten a refund and that he will check on it. That was 1.5 weeks ago and I have not heard from him since about the status of my account. I have left numerous voicemail messages and never got a call back. Every time I call, morning, afternoon, or evening the call always goes to voicemail that I don't think is even checked. The movers did a good job but the management is horrendous and does not act like a reliable business would. If they business model is to charge up front and then issues refunds, they should have a better system in place for refunds. It seems like the manager is the only one who can see anything about the refund and he keeps giving excuse after excuse for not looking into it after he says he will. If I do not hear from him soon I will take legal action. If I were you, I would stay away from this moving company!

The young men who moved us today are a great group. They were punctual, there was no wasted time, my furniture was padded and wrapped with such care and we had no problems. We have a lot of big and heavy things and we were thrilled with our move. A pleasure AND the price was what was quoted which thrilled us even more. A great company. I totally recommend Movers Academy.

We had a really amazing experience with Mover’s Academy today. The crew that showed up was a pleasure to work with and handled our items with care. They listened to all of our requests on where everything should go when we arrived and really just couldn’t have been a nicer group of guys. They were also fast and efficient. Highly recommend!

After calling me and begging me to switch and promising me the world, I switched moving companies to Mover’s Academy. While the crew was very nice and personable, two desks were broken, multiple walls and doors that weren’t lined with padding were scuffed, boxes clearly labeled “Kitchen” were left in various other rooms, boxes labeled “clothes” were left in the garage, etc., and furniture was left sideways. Additionally, my washer drain hose was cracked and caused a leak in my house. It’s been almost a month and I am still trying to get reimbursed for the damages, and since the move, communication has been lacking on their part. I will never use this company again, and I highly advise against others using them either. Then they only agreed to give me refunds for my damaged in exchange for taking down my negative review on Google! I’d rather save others from picking the wrong company than get my $95 refund.

I have used Mover’s Academy 3 times and have never been disappointed! They go above and beyond! I have a bad habit of forgetting things and needing a favor or two when it comes to putting g something together or something outside of their normal duties and their response is always “okay, not a problem!”... they are great packers and organizers in storage units and stuff was well preserved once it was finally time to move into our home 6 months later! There was no damage to any items, mattress still smelled fresh! No glass items broken, everything was still intact! They have moved use from Douglasville Georgia to Kennesaw Ga and back! They are the best! Very fast and efficient! Extremely PROFESSIONAL!

Despite delays caused by Job 1(I was JOB 2) and my jitters when the delay meant a nighttime move for me and storage of my precious belongings 'somewhere in the world'; compounded by having to wait patiently for their arrival at my storage place the next day - it all worked out for the good. I learned that in very trying circumstances like mine - character, solid work ethic, integrity and a smile saves the day. Great guys! Strong and handsome, too. Nice perk?

A friend, who bought some furniture from me, found this company. They are AWESOME. They were real professionals. Helped me move some pieces inside my house that I am going to donate to a charity and did a great job moving some very expensive and fragile items for my friend.

Our move took much longer than we had anticipated and everyone on the Mover's Academy team was phenomenal. They were professional, respectable and courteous. I definitely recommend if you're doing a large or small move. They went above and beyond and we couldn't be happier with our experience.
