To keep a very long story short, We adopted a spunky yet sweet little kitten that we all love & has now become inseparable with our resident cat, we are so happy about that.
Two stars though for the volunteers/workers. We were met with nothing but rudeness from day 1. There was one lady who was sweet but I guess she misspoke on a certain matter & left us with the wrong information so when that time came we reached out to NCHS about an illness the kitten has had before adopting her (despite me asking if she’s had anything she can give to my resident cat) & we were told if the kitten fell ill just a few days after adopting then they would help us so we wouldn’t financially struggle. I thought that was sweet. Turns out that was not the case. We were not asking them to pay for our entire vet bill because we KNOW we are responsible for her from there on out for any vet visits but we were TOLD differently within the first few days after adopting & so we thought maybe they could reimburse for JUST the medication she needed for a disease she had that was not disclosed to us at all.
INSTEAD of being responded back in a nicer way like “Oh I’m sorry that info was given to you incorrectly. We apologize for any misunderstandings,” or “Oh Ee’re sorry you misunderstood us” (which we would have been fine with because it happens, we understand; we were yet again met with a hostile email back that sounded like they were threatening to take back the cat & instead of just helping cover the cost of a medication that was less than 50$ they would rather take her back and refund 175. Which we didn’t say we wanted to give her back so that felt threatening. The whole thing sounds like a scam to us & I felt it was very unprofessional & rude on their end. There is a nicer, HUMANE way speaking to humans that have been given wrong information & that way was NOT it. Literally NO reason to be cruel & impolite. Not excusable. JUST my experience & honest opinion some of these workers need to work on their people skills. There is a fine line between being blunt and helpful & being just plain rude. I hope no one else was met with the same cruelty like we were. Other than that we are very happy to have been able to bring our new kitten home and extend our little family. We all love her & our resident cat is obsessed with her.

Went here yesterday to adopt a cat my cat of 12 years passed away and just wanted another fur baby . The customer service at front desk were very uncaring and lied and said kittens were at petsmart but I had already been to petsmart none were available there. I felt very pushed off get out kind of vibe. Will not return hopefully the kittens find a home because with this kind of customer service it seems to be hard to adopt . Yuck…Your better off going outside finding a kitten

I have dealt mostly with Cindy and her husband. The nicest and most caring people you can meet. They have helped me more times then I can count. God has a special place for people like them and all who work with them.. I can’t thank you enough!!

I became a foster for NCHS a little more than a year ago. I was involved with another rescue up by Lake Lanier until 2017 when they closed their doors. I have really enjoyed being a part of this group. The kindness and dedication to be there for dogs and cats in need by a group of volunteers is inspiring. My role is minor compared to the logistics involved in getting a pet rescued and adopted to the right home. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of NCHS.

They do God's work. I'd also like to say I'm disgusted with all the people who decided to adopt a dog during coronavirus and then bring it back to the Humane Society when life went back to normal.

These folks are a God-send! Passionately dedicated to loving our fur babies! They are a true blessing to our animals all over. Always ready to help with animal related needs. They are also a great resource to have if you need info on where to go or what to do when it comes to animal services like strays, emergency care, or basic necessities for the animals without families to care for them and even ones who do have a family.

The sections that I seen appeared to be clean and organized I'm hoping to volunteer there over the next few months and I hope to improve what I can and help what I can to take care of the animals and help the staff.
