If I could leave a 0 star review I would. This place is a complete JOKE. I have went almost three years without leaving a review and after tonight, I just couldn’t help myself anymore… I’m DONE. Tonight within just a few hours, my fiancé and I lost power at our apartment FIVE times. Our house that we had in the city before we moved into our apartment two months ago, had the same issues for several years with the power constantly going in and out.. that’s probably why our monthly utility bill is SKY HIGH!!! Dealing with the City Of Monroe is a complete nightmare. When I went to call tonight, the lady I talked to was EXTREMELY rude. She didn’t even let me finish what I had to say, and then hung up the phone on me. She didn’t want to give me the time of day. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO BETTER.

I do not experience the internet or power outages complained of in other reviews - I work from home, so I would quickly notice any outages. I've owned my home in downtown Monroe for over three years. I love the comprehensive bills that include water, trash, sewer, electricity, gas, and internet. Our total bill fluctuates between 200-400/mo for a 2000 sq foot home, depending on the time of year. We now have automatic drafts, which makes payment easy peasy. I got great support from the city when we had a sewer issue. Overall a positive experience!

So I have lost my extension on my bill for a year due to me breaking the agreement. I haven’t signed a physical copy of the extension since June of 2022. The rest have been over the phone. Every time I have called to get one no on has ever reminded me of the terms for the extension. So they need to have the ladies remind the people over the phone if they are getting an extension so they won’t loose it like I just did. I know I paid after but I would have made it on time with the extended date if I was reminded that I was gonna loose the Privilege of getting the extension. And Terry did nothing about it. She didn’t say ok we’ll give you another chance or even extend this bill for me. Nothing was done.

They came to my house to update my internet and sent some unprofessional contractors to install the internet and they damaged my home with holes in the inside and outside and left it like that I am dealing with this problem now but believe me is going to get solved. Monroe Utilities don’t care about their customers ??♀️‼️

I used to come through there all the time I love to stop there me and my wife and relax spend a few dollars enjoy yourselves but after the video me and my wife just watched of your police department she is terrified to death to ever come there again so I'm sad to say and you could tell the people of your town because of your police department your town will be losing our business and will be telling everybody we know stop violating people's rights and do better

I’ve never experienced more power outages in my life, you would think how expensive my bills are this wouldn’t be an issue. On the coldest night we’ve had here in Georgia with temperatures at 12 degrees here in Monroe we are experiencing a power outage, why has no preparation been done by the city to prevent this because it was forecasted. God please be with us all on this freezing night.

Power and internet constantly goes out. I pay $400+ a month, so constantly loosing power and internet is not acceptable. Based on other reviews, this has been happening for years. I’ve only been in Monroe for 1 year and it has been one bad experience after another. Constantly hearing gun shots and praying my family and I don’t get injured or worse and constantly worrying about the power and internet going out at the wrong time among so much more. I can’t wait for my lease to end so that I can leave here. Monroe Utility takes complete advantage of its customers and my overall experience here in Monroe has been so uncomfortable.Internet is down again on June 3, 2022- I work from home. Unacceptable. I will document here every time power or internet is down for no apparent reason.

Got no information on internet plans as a current renter and future buyer here in Monroe. Ridiculous cable charge for internet in a bundle. Slowest internet at highest cost available, so glad Kinetic and Tmobile are in town go with them over any TV or Internet from Monroe Utilities.

It seems not unusual thing to go to sleep with gunfire in this community. It is ranked one of the top worst cities to live in in Georgia. Maybe they should invest some of their money into the community to help the misfortunate souls that live here.
