“I remember in 1976 driving from Statesboro to the County Line Package Store. At the time 18 was the legal drinking age. Statesboro was a dry county for liquor at the time. We stopped and I went in the right side door. They had pool tables, pinball machines, beer and liquor by the glass and bottle and six pack beer sales, the bar was in the middle separating the two sides. The man at the bar nicely said I was on the wrong side. The right hand side was for African Americans and the left hand door/side was for White people. 50 years later the layout still looks the same from the outside, but I bet they no longer enforce this 1976 tradition. Still there after 50 years. smh”

“My cousin and I found this jewel of small town Georgia by accident looking for a liquor store while on I-16, and what we found was an atmosphere that is a true representation of Southern hospitality, Georgia style. What was once a liquor store had been changed into the coziest bar I have ever been to in my life. We were outsiders, but by the time we left, we felt as if we were regulars.”
