I just got hired in McDonough and saw Halston apartments and thought wow how nice they look but after these reviews which I am big on I will pass. Life is hard enough , having a stressful home environment that costs 1200 plus a month is just not worth it.

Our ac unit has been out for 4 days now, going on 5. They are waiting on a part from Lowes. In the meantime, my wife is on oxygen 24/7. We are living in one room where we have fans blowing. How hard is it to go get the part? This is a health issue. We are no further along that when this first started.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. if I could give this place -10 star I would. The office lady upfront Annalita DID NOT HELP US the way she should have. She knew about our situation and didn’t care. The property manager wasn’t much help either. This was my husband and I’s first apartment. We lived there the whole year. And everything was great in the beginning until it wasn’t. Our Air conditioning(AC) broke in April. Didn’t think much of it. They fixed it and went on about their day. The very next day it broke again. This time they didn’t fix the issue. They kept bandaging the issue instead of fixing it. We had over 20 work orders of them just putting coolant in the air for it to break again the next day. They informed me that if the unit broke again that they would need to put a whole new unit. They never did. We went 3 MONTHS in a row with no AC. I guess once they were tired of us calling and complaining about it they gave us a portable unit that only airs ONE room In the middle of summer. After that they never even tried to fix our air again. So if you put a time frame from when the air broke in April to now we were about 6+ months with out working air. The apartment reached 80 most of the summer if not more. They stop answering my phone calls and stopped caring that it DID NOT WORK. They failed to mention that the portable unit would increase our electricity bill $200 more and they did not want to compensate us. I have a 2 year old and because of the living conditions in the apartment of how hot it was she was constantly having to go to the doctor for heat rash. I had to leave my 2 year old with my mom because I couldn’t leave her in this apartment with no AC. Mind you this summer has been extremely HOT and up to 95 degrees outside. So imagine 6 months no working ac, 80 degrees in the apartment and a toddler. Not fun. I have the picture of proof of how hot it was in the apartment. Also they are very gross the trash pickup would never pick out trash up and they make u pay for that. And the residents were raised in barns because everyday we would see trash thrown all over our front door from other people and the trash people would not clean it up or pick it up. As much money as they charge you to live here they DO NOT care about you or your health.

I’ve been living here for a month and I had a better experience living in the hood. I’ve found about 6 things wrong with the apartment when I first moved in. I’ve made 8 maintenance requests so far. I called the emergency line repeatedly one night and they didn’t answer. Not even a follow up the next day. The office never answers the phone. And when you do, whoever answers the phones, their mood is a hit or miss. Btw the insects here are annoying. I have a roach infested unit and it’s clean. There are wasps EVERYWHERE. Gnats infested our unit even when we took our trash out. Someone keeps trashing the breeze way. They even threw trash in my valet trashcan a few times without a garbage bag which I’m mad about! Don’t get me wrong the apartments are nice but I shouldn’t have to experience this living in McDonough.

This place is something else. My niece has had to stay with me because her apartment has not had a/c for 23 days and they will not compensate her for those days w/out air condition

They tell you to reach out to the office for help , but nobody in the front office can help . Also nobody in the front office can provide information for anybody above them to help . So everybody just helpless . $150 for 23 days without A/C , that’s a joke . Just sad . The least they could do is provide a credit that actually makes sense for renters with issues that aren’t being fixed or aren’t even capable of staying at their own home .

I've been living here for four years. It was okay or decent at first. Then the better neighbors moved out(it happens with apartments). There is a pest and rodent problem. They charge you for pest Control monthly, but you have to make an appointment. There is no notification if they have treated your apartment or not. My apartment constantly smells like weed because whomever is above me is obviously smoking in their apartment. My neighbors leave dog pooh without picking it up just outside the apartment. I can go on and on. Lastly, the AC in apartment went out at the end of April. The maintenance person did come by quickly, but he informed me that I would go on the waitlist for a new condenser. I wasn't told how long it would be. I contacted the apartment manager(I reached out twice before I was contacted). It had already been a week. I wanted to know 1) how long was I going to have to wait. 2) what kind of accommodations would be made for(ie a portable ac unit, place with ac. SOMETHING!) 3) I don't think I should be expected to pay full rent on a place without air conditioning. All of the things I listed I feel are reasonable. I was assured that my ac with fixed. It's now been over three weeks. This is not how an apartment complex should be run and maintained...
Also, my water heater died last week. The maintenance person came late the next day, but worked into the evening to replace it. The only bright spot.

My rating is for the Apartment Life coordinators, Mylaziá and John. They hosted an event recently while I was visiting a friend and they were so welcoming and friendly! Fostering a real community here is amazing and the events they have coming in the future sound very fun. I do wish the property had communicated the event with residents so that more people could be made aware.
