I was asked for my ID at checkout to open an Ulta account and when I declined, the cashier looked me dead in the eye and told me she couldn’t skip account creation. I said, “What do you mean you can’t skip it?” And she told me she already had two “skips” that day and was at risk of getting her hours cut if she didn’t sign me up. Then she asked me if it would just be okay to sign me up anyway so she didn’t get in trouble.Then we stared at one another awkwardly… because what?The person I was shopping with ended up intervening because they did have an account on file, but I want to be clear: I was fully ready to walk out. I don’t know what managerial or company directive has been handed down that Ulta is putting their employees, and by extension customers like myself, in a situation like this… but please reevaluate your sales tactics.Nobody should be asking for my ID at a makeup store in the first place, let alone doubling down after I say no. It’s Ulta, not the DOD. Anyway, super weird interaction. I will not be back.

It was easy to make a piercing appointment and the girl was friendly however my daughter mixed up the type of earrings and put the wrong ones in her ear. The entire thing was bizarre and I would go elsewhere for piercing.

Manager working at 8:50 p.m. on Saturday 9/18 referred to a customer on the phone with the r slur, “r*****ed,” in front of myself and at least 2 other customers. She wore a white coat and a black ear piece. It was very offensive and unprofessional. I will never shop here again. Very disappointed, and expecting this employee to be spoken to by someone higher up.

The staff seems unhappy and uninterested when helping me. But also I feel bad for them because I heard someone yelling at the staff.They have lots of selection of products. But I feel discouraged for asking questions because they acted like Im wasting their time. I will just buy online and return it if not like it

I have shopped at Ulta for many years and had an unfortunate experience with an associate, Maddie, in The Clinique department who was very rude and disrespectful when I was attempting to find a cosmetic. If you don’t want drawers to be opened simply put a sign up stating that as I see people do this all the time to find their shade. A simple misunderstanding that should have been dealt with better. Won’t be back…

I worked with master stylist Monique for the first time yesterday and was quite happy. The 4.5 hours I was there for a keratin treatment went by faster than usual, and I feel it was due to her social nature and ability to make conversation flow. Bedside manner aside, she is very knowledgeable and professional; two things I'm looking for whenever making an investment in a purchase. Great job!
