This is a no-kill shelter so they will sell you a dog that bites and is aggressive without telling you. Our dog attacked my child twice and she was in the hospital overnight due to trauma to the thumb and face. The worker on the phone when we told them what happened said that they knew he had a history of biting, but did not disclose that to us. It also smells awful in there which is understandable, but should have some sort of ventilation in place for the main room

Best place to adopt your forever pet! We adopted her 11 years ago and will go back to them if we adopt another.

I would have given them 5 stars. I loved their process of matching pets and ensuring compatibility with the whole environment rather than just first come basis. Everyone that I interacted with was very nice. And I am absolutely enamored with our new family member. However, it took way too long to get the vet records. I reached out multiple times and (if I got a response at all) they would apologize and say they would be sent within a couple of days--they weren't. Almost 2 months later (and every form of communication) I finally got the records. Then it turns out that our dog was almost 2 months older than they said. So they had charged me the higher rate for a puppy (under 9 months), when she was almost 11 months old. I feel like I've been had, and it doesn't feel good. I don't know that I would tell people to not adopt from here, but I would say be extra cautious. Ask to see the records before you commit to adopting, especially for an older puppy (who may be around that 9 month age). Other than that, I was incredibly pleased. It's hard for me to write this, but I don't want the same thing to happened to anyone else.

I really wanted this place to work out. Good reviews and very convenient to my home. I reached out for training, filled out a form online. No response. I called several times, always voicemail. I even tried emailing them. Nothing. If they’re not interested in my business, a quick reply would be professional.

OPP is the best! We adopted our dog, Bennett, from them years ago and they made absolutely sure that we were the best home for him. It's not a place to just pick out a pet, it is a community of animal lovers who work for the best possible life for all of the dogs and cats in their care. We are forever grateful for their contribution to our family.
