UPDATE: I received a reply about 5PM on 08/14/2022 to call Members First if I wanted to get the fees refunded, so I called just a few minutes after receiving the reply and was told they closed at 5, to call back before 5 the next day. I called at 4:40 today and was told they closed at 4:30. I should have expected no better.I opened a savings account with Members First about 20 years ago. I called to see how to open an account and was told I just needed to deposit $35. I took in $35, and, when I left, I checked my receipt and it showed a $25 deposit. They said they charge $10 to open a savings account. I should have demanded my money back and left but didn't. Fast forward to about 4 years ago. My husband is a joint owner so he went to close the account. Since he was not the primary owner, the bank teller would not let him close it. He didn't want my husband to take any money out, but my husband took all but $5 out. I went to the branch in our building on Sandy Plains Road several times to close it, and they were always on break or at lunch. I remoted full time from home, so I tried to go when I had to go into the office for a meeting. Poor customer service and inconvenient hours and locations were part of the reason I was going to close the account. I just received a new statement that showed they had taken $3 of the $5 balance out for a paper statement fee. They never even sent a notice that they were going to start charging such a fee. I called to see if there was a way to close the account over the phone or some other way without going into a branch, and the Rep said that the account was automatically closed on July 1, 2022. I never even received a notice that they were closing the account. This is the worst credit union or bank I have ever used, and the only one I know that charges a fee to open a savings account. I do not recommend this bank for anything.

I’m so glad I closed my account best decision I ever made! Had my first ever debit account made with them at 16 for 2 years and finally at 18 I was steady working ready for a credit card to build credit. Well Michelle I think her name is ( fat white lady) made that very difficult for me and displayed a very nasty racist attitude. I won’t ever do business somewhere where they hire people that don’t want to help you willingly. I went from 0 credit to an 800 credit score in a span of 2 years and a homeowner at 20 years old! ??♀️ Guess you guys employee pulled a bad judgment card based off race.

The staff here are so friendly. The location is inconspicuous, which I like because it’s safe and never crowded.

So convenient! I am not sure if this is a new location or what, but man does it make my life easier since I work on the square. Very friendly staff, free 20 minute parking which is more then enough time to really take care of whatever it is that you need to do there. Where other locations I have had to show my ID and my account number, both times I have been here I have handed the teller either one or the other and that was all they needed. Additionally they did not hold on to it for an extended period of time, something that I frequently run into at other branches.
