Stumbled upon this place when I was visiting Madison. I first I thought it was a men's shop, however is just a lady clothing/boutique shop. I did however find a gift for my sister. The staff is very nice and the place is dog-friendly.

I was disappointed at the management/ownership of this store. The store is well stocked and displayed with one shoe of each style. My friend and I, both in our 70’s and well dressed, were followed by one of the salesclerk/owners like we were going to steal the shoes. Who wears one shoe? If you are that parenoid put cameras in every corner. It was degrading.

My wife loved the shoes they had and bought three pairs. They have a chair for someone who was not looking for anything so I was able to stay out of the way.

I love Barking Dog. I buy nearly all my shoes here because of the quality and service. My dog, Willard, loves to visit. He appreciates the dog treats at the door. Thanks for being consistently wonderful to work with and for helping me pick out gym shoes.

Best shoe store I've been to in years! A friendly greeting when you walk in the door AND a person who listens and finds what you need. I went in with serious foot pain (LOUD barking dogs) and a kind, helpful woman got down floor level and fished around until she found the hidden gem "recovery slide" on clearance that was half price. SO nice to have a pair of shoes that do not hurt now! Even after a half price sale, I had immediate assistance and resolution with a question. Thank you to all who were there that Saturday!

I had the same experience another reviewer gave. I walked in and they did acknowledge me but another party came in about 5 minutes later and they were greeted and were told all about the side walk sale and where the sale items were. I didn't get that greeting so I had no idea where the sale items were. I actually liked several dresses that were not on sale but didn't want to purchase anything after seeing the different greeting the other customers got.

Was not even acknowledged upon entry when two other party's were welcomed after I arrived. No one checked on me as I was walking around. Was ready to spend some money but with the terrible customer service I will shop somewhere else.

What a letdown at this place... I noticed it on a previous visit to Madison and was looking forward to spending a little time (and money) there during my next trip to Madison. Although the store was not busy (one other customer) we were not greeted or even acknowledged. A shoe store is a place where customer service really matters. I don't know if they carried anything that I couldn't live without, but I didn't get much guidance or direction from the lethargic and distracted staff. I think their minds were not on making sales. It's too bad, because they carry some high-quality brands that I would have liked to try on.
