This company is a scam. I was told if I cancelled, I'd get my deposit back of $350.00. Not so. They won't even call me back. I'm going to file a complaint with the fmcsa.dot.gov/consumer protection agency and also will contact my congressman. They should be put out of business immediately!

This was the absolute worst Experience with moving than I ever had! experience with moving than I ever had! They brough my things two months later than the date promised and the 30 day contract. They refused to bring my things to my home which was arranged three months prior. When they finally arrived having to deliver it to another address for of my boxes 4 of my boxes were missing and they brought me 4 boxes that were not mine. I had to pay extra to then transport all of my things to my address which was arranged at the initial agreement and contract In sum dont ever Use these movers they should not be in business.

Stay away from this company. I was warned by other reviews to be skeptical of their offer, and I wish I had.Long story short, we made a very complete budget with videos, distances, inventory etc.. but at the end of the job, they charged me almost double. We sat down in a reasonable manner and negotiated a fair price which I paid and they even gave me a receipt, but once they left the house they made an additional charge to my credit card for the difference (+250).They stopped answering the phone and emails, I'm still dealing with the dispute on my CC.Hear me when I warn you to STAY AWAY from these thieves!!

Not only did they damage or destroy a 1/3 of our belongings, they raised the cost by 2,000 dollars after loading the truck. I reported them for fraud and documented everything. Sell all of you possessions rather than moving across country with this company!!!

Made a deposit to this company. Many promises of no outside companies. Its just a few guys and their own truck. An unmarked truck shows up at our house, 2 days AFTER our original scheduled day, and hours later than they said. These guys have no id. They told us we arent going to pack us, like we paid for. We can't get ahold of any one. So we send the random truck away. We got a uhual instead. As my husband is picking it up, this company finally gets ahold of us. They have no idea why their guys weren't there. And they want to get us someone else out there. We're already days behind schedule so no way are we waiting. Now they won't refund us anything!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give no stars I would. Beware of this scammy place!

I booked services to pick up in South Texas, 11th hour vehicle breakdown with no other vehicle in area to cover this obligation that was already secured with $825.00 deposit. No alternative was provided, but I was assured by moving coordinator and a supervisor (Joseph) that my deposit would be returned immediately. One week later and no return of funds, I contacted customer service for resolution. Supervisor was not available at the time of my call which was 11am. I stated I would wait an additional hour and then call on the half hour. As promised, I waited the additional time without a response from Joseph or the customer representative. Upon calling back, I was placed on hold before being told my refund would have to come in the form of a check, but the accountant that has to approve the check will not be in the office until Thursday 21 Feb 2019. Elapsed time from booking to hopeful resolution will be greater than 10 days. I asked to have the check overnighted. Response was tentative. My concern is the customer service representative apparently does not have access to the people necessary for her to be effective in her role. I would not recommend this company to move me from one side of the street to the other. Absolutely no follow up conversation from the moving coordinator and/or Joseph following the aborted pick up on 11 Feb 2019. At what point would any member of this organization realized there was an open account with funds due back to a customer and taken appropriate corrective action? Extremely disappointed. I was able to secure services with A new U-Haul U-Box product for half the price of American Moveds and Storage. Hope this helps in elevating your level of service and customer satisfaction.

I second everyone on this feed. If you had experiences like ours, please file within the state you moved or with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association This might help people filing credit card disputes or lawsuits in the future. I also contacted my congressman, and he recommended this as the best next step. My family had 1/3 of our goods lost or destroyed by a company that they brokered our move out to. This was after a sales representative, named Paul from American Movers and Storage LLC, assured me that his company would be the carrier of our goods. In fact, he told me that they get new trucks every two years because they put so many miles on them. No one could get ahold of David from Anthem Moving out of NJ for a week and half. Anthem Moving told me they had no records of our move, but American Movers and Storage claimed they brokered the move out to that company. I have more photos, but I figure after 13 you get the point. I wish 0 stars was an option.

I set up a move with Jeff from American Movers and Storage and explained to him that our house was for sale and we did NOT have a moving date scheduled at this point. I did explain that we were hoping to be out of there around May, but to not put down a moving date. One day I was sitting in my office and saw an unmarked white moving truck pull into our driveway. I walked outside to see if they had the wrong address, and they did not. I explained to them that we were not moving as they could see our house was still for sale and there must have been a mix up within the company. They called the company while I was on the driveway and then I received a call from one of the ladies in the office named Rachel. She said that these gentleman just drove 800 miles out of their way to pick us up. I explained that we never set up a moving date and as she looked at her notes, she saw that it was the moving company's mistake and she apologized. I felt horrible for the 3 gentleman that drove that far, however it was not our fault. A couple months later, again I was sitting in my office and saw the same truck and gentleman pull up again and I was astounded. I walked outside and explained to them that I spoke with the company and explained that we were not moving yet and I would call them when we were and they screwed up again. This time the gentleman drove 250 miles out of their way. They called the company again and I am not sure what was said as I was leaving for a meeting. Then one of the ladies in the office called me within the last month or so and asked if I had sold our house yet and ready to move and I said no, it was still for sale. These horrible mistakes have happened twice, and I don't have any trust with this company and my valuables. When I spoke with Jill, I got quite frustrated. The fact that they have zero notes in my account stating that these gentleman have come to my house twice, when in fact the movers spoke with one of the ladies in the company twice from the mistakes. I find it truly disheartening that their company has failed to take the appropriate measures on this situation and documenting all conversations. Also, I did take a full account of everything in our house when setting up the move with Jeff, and the truck that arrived would in no way fit everything we have, and they stated they also had another family to pick up after ours. The truck that pulled up was no bigger than 26 feet, which our stuff would not fit in. If it did, I would have rented a U-Haul truck and driven ourselves. The reason we hired a moving company is that we needed a bigger truck than 26 feet and this would not have sufficed. Also when setting up the move with Jeff, I was told that this was not a 3rd party company, which apparently it is, and I was lied to from the beginning. I also don't appreciate their tone when speaking with me as I am the customer. They have consistently lied and when trying to call them today to find out if my email has been reviewed to get a refund, the number no longer exists. I did some digging and they changed their name yet again to Atlas moving and storage. When trying to leave a voicemail on all different lines, it states all voicemail's are full. I cannot even reach them to get a refund, so I will be filing complaints with everyone I can. They have done nothing but lie to me from day one.

This review at this point is all for naught since these b*#$*$eds are out of business. We too hired this deplorable company (if you can call them that). They are in the business of destroying lives! So much of our life is gone after 40 years of accumulation. Items that cannot ever be replaced because they belonged to grandparents that have long been deceased. China from Europe that is over 150 years old, many pieces missing & broken, our wedding toast glasses broken, mementoes from travels (like beer steins from 1999 Olympics in Atlanta), collectables that were actually stolen out of bins with the items they didn't want left broken so that we received half a bin, antique furniture broken & damaged. These are just a few. Many other boxes & bins never received. We were lied to so much! We too got a quote that was reasonable & when the truck showed up we had to pay them another $3,000.00 or they would have just left our furniture on the sidewalk. Most of the boxes & bins were in a storage unit so all they had to do was load the much larger truck we were charged for but did not need. But before they could load they had to "re-pack" which amounted to the additional money. They charged for "crates" that were never used. Basically they put the original box/bin in their box & charged us $3,000. I cannot express how distraught I have been over this whole mess. Now I don't even have recourse for a claim which I was told they probably wouldn't pay anyway since they didn't do the packing. Duh! yes they did AFTER I paid the additional money. Is there a way we could all get together for a class action suit?

Nightmares. Lies. tell you one price and when the movers finish packing your items they demanded more money in cash. Then tell you they need more money when delivery day comes. Again $3000 in cash or will not deliver. After all that .. 16 boxes out of 27 boxes missing . Trying to file a claim and the rules and regulations is ridiculous. Then after all that again the claim agency contract expires and I cannot get contact with American movers and storages.. This is a nightmare that keep going on for over 4 months. Don't please don't ever try using this company. Zero stars.. Zero!

DO NOT USE MOVING COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!! See the BBB of Georgia website, search for American Movers and Storage of Macon Georgia. They have 3 alerts about their poor customer service and questionable business practices. They will have great customer service and go out of their way to get your deposit and set up a move. They will say anything and then when another moving company comes to pick up your stuff they will not honor the moving contract and charge your more, hold on to your stuff for up to a month, and keep asking for money. You might pay double for the move and possibly have stuff missing or damaged. The insurance will pay 6 dollars per pound. So if they destroy your 10 pound flat screen TV you will get 60 bucks. We used them and it was a complete disaster. The moving company who picked us up wanted $600 more dollars, and when we refused to pay they drove off leaving us stranded without movers. I actually was relieved when they drove off because after 3 hours of trying to get them to honor the contract we felt like we dodged a bullet. Their 24 hour customer service line does not exist. You have been warned.

This company is a sham. Every step of the way they will screw you. They'll overcharge you like crazy. The Mexicans they have move your stuff will be MIA for a while then show up weeks later at 11:00pm. Forget about reimbursement for the stuff they break or lose. Thats if they even get your stuff to you. Read the BBB reviews. They change their names. They change their website. They're even in some sketchy deal with their "3rd party" people that don't/won't reimburse you. Your claim is another sham. Stay away from these clowns!!!
