I went in there for my 7 year old to get a washed and blow out they offered a condition treatment that supposedly is good for kids her hair came out great but the next day it was falling out in chunks I took pictures and Called she told me to bring her back in. I brought her back in the next day hair was still falling out. I saved all the hair that was in the bag and the lady tried to say that my daughter was pulling her own hair out when my seven-year-old has never ever even so much has yanked her own hair She said that this is a brand new thing and it’s never happened. However, I’ve explain to her. This is not my first time coming here. This is the second time my daughter has had her here down here that it never happened the first time, but this new conditioning thing may be the cause of it. She denied it tonight. It re-washed my daughters hair and redid her hair and still told me that my daughter could be the one pulling her own hair out. I just left but I will never be going back there.Service: Shampoo & conditioning

The name of this shop is misleading. I have had my hair done by New York Dominicans, specifically in the Bronx. I live in Virginia in the tidewater area and have had Dominican’s do my hair. I lived in Newark, NJ and Dominican’s did my hair. In each state, all i’ve had to tell them was pin curls or wrap and pin my hair. Never did they ask me what is that? Can I show them a picture? Like wha? I couldn’t find a picture close that matched my request. In 17 years I’ve never had to show a picture. They didn’t want to roller set my hair b/c a picture I found looked like straightened hair with flips. They wanted to blow dry and flat iron my hair. I told them no because I can do that myself and it’s a different texture with roller sets when dried. When the lady rolled my hair, she rolled under instead of over which I had to ask her to redo once I saw what she was doing. She couldn’t roller set that well and had an attitude and started speaking Spanish because I had to tell them what I wanted instead of letting her do what she wanted. I should have left as soon as they asked for a picture. But no, I drove 35 mins with an expectation of a NEW YORK STYLE DOMINICAN SALON. After my hair dried, the owner took over. She ruined it for me. She was blowing the root and the ends of the hair into a shirley temple look. Yo. I was so mad. My hair is thick, but easily manageable. If you roller set my hair correctly, there will be no kinks. I hated my hair once finished. I tipped them less than I would normally ($7) because the owner’s daughter did a great job shampooing my hair. Other than that, I will NEVER return again. It’s been a struggle finding hairstylists who can do hair like they can at home. I guess i’ll just continue doing my hair myself until God blesses me with what I want. The purpose of this post is for anyone moving down south to this area. Do not expect what we are use to from home. And if you do find someone, please keep me in mind and comment here.ThanksService: Hairstyling

They did our hair terriblely the first time. So we came back to get it fixed. The next time we came she said she didn't want to deal with us (even though they knew how to do our hair after they corrected it last time). Luckily we found another solan nearby. Would not recommend.

I called last minute for a walk In appointment. It was a great experience. I was the only person in there and some time to myself was just what I needed.I was taken care of by two employees. One for my hair wash the other for the blow out.My hair was washed to perfection. I have a lot of oil in my hair due to hair growth treatments and my hair was washed 3/4 times in that sitting. Then deep conditioned, under the dyer. And rinsed again.Handed over to the stylist, who blow dried my hair throughly- I was shocked at the length and stretch my hair had gotten from the blow dry alone. She then went onto silk press my hair- which I didn’t ask for or expect, however, I was very invested in the experience. I felt so relaxed and in good hands. I was also given a trim which I was asked for and assured she was only going to take a little off which she did and I was so happy she asked me and allowed me to approve each snip.My hair came out gorgeous. I didn’t get photos as this is a late review but I wanted to share my experience. The stylist thanked me for trusting her, complimented my hair health and thanked me for not being on my device and just being in the moment of getting my hair done.I only wish I got both of their names. I was happy to leave a $20 tip and will definitely be back. Thanks again ladiesServices: Blowouts

Terrible experience at this salon!!! Not only did my silk press barely last a day, but I heard very disturbing comments made by the stylists in Spanish regarding clients’ hair texture and physique… particularly targeting Black women. As a salon who markets to Black women, this is very sad and disturbing. I will definitely not be going back and hope management does a better job of choosing skilled AND genuine people.Service: Hairstyling

I just had an awesome experience at this salon. The women were very nice and took their time helping me find the right color for my hair. My hair was salt and pepper. Ms Lucy took the time to walk me Thru which color she thought would work best . The results were amazing! Very impressed with my hair. THANK YOU MS LUCY!Service: Hairstyling

Best price and experience for a Brazilian blowout. Staff is funny, kind, and attentive. Most speak Spanish. Lasts about 6 months but my natural waves have maintained with less frizz for over a year.

I absolutely love this place!!! I gave them the biggest challenge because I was dealing with a lot of new growth and my hair seemed like it wasn’t fixable. My new growth did not faze them. The stylist was very thorough and gave me a beautiful hair style. I will be coming back!!Services: Haircut
