Don't let the location fool you. Yes, it's a Carneceria (meat market), Mexican bodega, and restaurant next to a gas station. Now, there are a few tables in the back to dine in, but to be totally honest this place it too small to enjoy eating in store. Don't you worry. They have the BEST authentic tacos in the area and eating in the car on the way home only makes them taste that much better. They also have dishes other than tacos, but at definitely don't skimp on flavor or portions. I've only tried their tacos, which are a decent size and all the meat choices are flavorful. My son came home with these tacos once and after tasting, I asked "where'd you get these?" His response was "at the gas station close to Walmart". WHAT??? After finding out exactly where he was talking about, I took note and eventually made my to La Barata Carneceria and ordered the the pollo, barbacoa and on another occasion, their Quesabirra tacos. OMG... The best!

This food was incredible. The Birria and consommé tasted great and everything - the meat and veggies - are fresh. The people who work here are welcoming and gave us great recommendations. Looking forward to coming back!

I can't say enough good things about this amazing, family owned restaurant/grocery shop. The best hole in wall you'll go to for service and authenticity. Victor is the owner and he was so kind and passionate about his business. I had the BEST birria tacos of my life here. I was told ppl drive from a hr away to get the birria tacos and let me tell you, it's worth it! While I was waiting for my meal, Victor gave me a sample of chicken so I could try it and it was delicious. I also didn't see ceviche on the menu and asked if they made it and he said yes and made it fresh to order for me. I was just blown away by his service. The ceviche was FANTASTIC and so fresh. He now has a loyal customer, I even bought some groceries while I was there lol. Their vegetables are a lot fresher than your typical supermarket and the meat prices are hard to beat! Thank you for this experience. See you soon!

The owner was so nice and welcoming. We had ordered some tacos and while we were waiting for our food he brought some pieces of grilled chicken for us to try. He was so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious.

Don't let the location of this little gem fool you. The owners are super nice and usually willing to give out small tastes of whatever he is whipping up at the time. This is my go to menudo spot as they stack tour bowl with tons of meat (no hominy) and great tasting broth. If he's making fresh carnitas, make sure you pick some up! Their chorizo is not spicy like other spots and has plenty of flavor.

Victor and his team always provide excellent service. He has catered our annual Christmas party and the food is outstanding. Everyone loves it and we are a diverse company. The tacos are great as well. This is the only place I will buy tacos!!!!!

This restaurant and carnicería met all of my expectations. Don't let the looks fool you, the meat is soooooo fresh and the tacos (whether corn or soft tacos) are delicious! It takes a minute to cook because it's made to order, and they have drinks to order or you can buy a Mexican coke bottle from the store! Such a hidden gem and I highly recommend and wish I lived closer.
