I have been regularly consulting Dr. Haywood since 2000. He is the best. He got best opthelmologist award in 2021 also.

I called this Dr.office today for a new appointment, and a receptionist answered the phone in a very unprofessional way and then asked me five questions about my insurance, She then asked me the reason for the visit, when I explained to her that I had a stye under my eyelid, she asked me if I was also visiting for any other health issues? She placed me o hold for a while then someone else picked up the phone and asked me what I needed????? I explained that I was speaking to someone who had already taken all my information and placed me on hold. She said that I was speaking to Melody and then she asked me to give her my insurance information and the reason for the visit. I asked her for her name (Since none of them cares to be phone professionals) and she said, Jessica. So I explained to Jessica that I have a stye under my eyelid, and she said we can not see you, and disconnected the call on me.I just hope that doctor Haywood knows how his staff is screening new patients, and if so, based on what?

Dr. Mark Haywood is Professional, knowledgeable, caring and patient. He is by far the BEST! My husband and I feel so blessed to have found him. The staff is AMAZING completing this wonderful ophthalmology practice.

I consider Dr. Mark Haywood to be outstanding in every regard. It takes a great deal for me to say that because many years ago ago in SC, I experienced a medical disaster caused by three doctors, which resulted in seven corrective surgeries, one 14.5 hrs long in Cleveland. Then, I have had a number of eye issues in the past three years, and Dr. Haywood has seen me through every problem like a champ. Also, the lady that does his eye testing prior to surgery has been there for many years and really knows her stuff. The staff is always on its A-game, especially Dr. Haywood. Im having cataract surgery tomorrow. Dr. H spent copious amounts of time answering every finite question I had because I could not make up my mind about my lens. (Indecisive due to a past SC medical mistake.). I am at peace that I am in great hands.
