Took my french bulldog here to get an xray done, the vet stated she was not pregnant, that she just had a bunch of poop. 2 weeks later she starts going into labor I had to take her to a different vet to get another xray they confirmed she was indeed pregnant . She was having complications with the labor and the puppy died.

Truly like a family. We had to schedule last minute vaccinations for boarding and this was our first visit to the office. The exam and vaccinations went well. The staff and everyone was super nice. Our fur baby gets really anxious but he came home groomed and happy after 5 days in boarding (we never board for that long)! And it was all affordable. Highly recommend.

The Doctor and Staff was very nice. They gave me the information that I needed to raise a healthy puppy. The facility was clean and I was seen at my appointment time, no waiting!

I chose dogwood as the facility to get my doberman girls ears cropped at because of the years of experience Dr. Caughman has. He was a pleasure to work with, sweet guy. They do Co2 laser crops with the proper aftercare with meds and posting afterwards is included with the surgery. My girls ears were cropped beautifully with 0 complications. They healed very quickly and have been doing amazing posting. A lot of places don’t crop ears properly, this place reconstructs the bell of the ears and gets you to the length and shape you are looking for. I can tell the staff loves their large dobie clientele lol.The hour and a half drive is more than worth it for us as not only is the ear cropping and posting service one of the best in north Ga, their regular veterinary care is also the best I’ve had, if I were closer I’d come here way more often. All the staff are kind and attentive and I genuinely believe out of all the vets I’ve gone to, this one’s best. Lots of people on hand every time I go in and they seem to work great with one another. They are also very appreciative of all their clients. They keep in touch with me through emails, texts, and during holidays I get cards in the mail from them. It’s so easy to set up appointments with them. Dogwood animal hospital is definitely a great business and group of people to support. We need more vets like them!

Very nice facility. Everyone was very nice as well. I just feel the Veterinarian rushed my visit and didn't really address my concerns. He said my dog ears was ok and when I went to another Vet they said she had an ear infection.

A major pro of this practice is how they handle end of life for a pet. I brought my dog in to be put down and they all displayed so much compassion. I felt incredibly valued during that experience. Then it all went downhill. The woman who answers the phone seems to hate her job and everyone she encounters. Why she's client-facing is beyond me. The biggest con against this practice is someone by the name of Aaron. He's the sole reason for my leaving this practice. If you find yourself being seen by him, run out of there. Aaron is the most dishonest and inhumane person in the vet world that I've ever encountered. I opted to have surgery for my dog and asked Aaron for an estimate of the surgery so I can be prepared. All pet owners know how expensive vet bills can be. The estimate was quoted at $680 and was itemized down the final details - or so I thought. After the surgery, when I went to pick up my dog, they were trying to charge me $740. The difference was for post-op pain meds. My estimate already included a line item for post-op pain meds and when I asked Aaron about it, he said they were extra meds. I questioned why these "extra" meds were left out of the initial quote and he said that not all dogs need them. I couldn't pay that difference so they sent me home to manage my dogs pain on my own for the next 48 hours. My dog suffered at the hands of this irresponsible practice and I'll never go back there.

Professionalism noted throughout the clinic. I have always been greeted with a smile when visiting. I totally trust them caring for my Dobermans.

I was excited to come here because I read how great the reviews were, and saw that they specialize in large animals. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience, to the point where I left the building in tears. I came to get a pre-surgical exam for my great Dane and also to get a culture done for a previous injury. I was told I needed to have blood work done, and when simply asking the Doctor Ray Coughman. If it was possible to have the blood work done elsewhere because of financial issues (the vet tech told it was very possible less than 5 minutes before) and I was met with complete disrespect. He starred at me like I was stupid for at least 30 seconds, then proceeded to throw his hands, slammed the folder on the counter and say “I don’t even care.” Not sure if it was a bad day for the doctor or what but I guess my question triggered him to the point of an emotional outburst. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Ever since my first experience when I had Toro’s ears cropped at Dogwood, each visit has been a pleasure. I love how the tech’s handle my pup. I have a 7 month, 116 pound Cane Corso that can be a hand full with strangers. Each tech that has taken him without my assistance (or pinch collar) are gentle, patient and love on my boy as if he were theirs. The only negative I have is that, my baby never wants to leave and fights me to get back to his friends. :-)I travel an hour from McDonough, GA because my big boy loves everyone he meets from Dogwood. I’m never concerned with his care and know he’s in great hands. I appreciate how they make every effort to keep dogs away from each other when they have a full day of appointments.Understand, things happen and this vet is extremely popular and in high demand because of our comments, praises and how we value them. As they are patient with our fur babies, we need to extend the same courtesy. For me personally, I don’t mind waiting a bit longer if they are running behind. They see more dogs in a day than I can even imagine, which all have to be accommodated by the time they close, and I know they aren’t taking breaks as they should! Just know, when your baby is being seen by any of the doctors or tech’s, they aren’t rushing to get them out and they spend the time needed to ensure your baby is cared for. We are loyal customers and they will forever be our #1VET.

Our chihuahua, Niko, was in the back yard, running around playing & having fun when suddenly, he started biting at his paw. We thought he might have stepped on something that hurt it. Our granddaughter picked him up and was looking at it. We could see her from the window and she started running up the stairs with him.She came inside and asked us to take a look at it. Suddenly, Niko started vomiting and having diarreah & acting very lethargic. In a matter of just a few minutes, he was limp and could hardly keep his eyes opened. We knew something terrible was happening! His regular vet was a 20 minute drive away, so we decided to just go up the street to Dogwood Animal Hospital. When we got into the car, Niko’s tongue was hanging out and he wasn’t breathing! We were frantic! We arrived at Dogwood and ran into the office in a panic! Erin, the front desk person, was so loving & calming! A man named Aaron took Niko to the back immediately, where several of the employees started working very quickly on him in an attempt to save his life. They gave him steroid shots, benadryl shots, oxygen, etc. Everyone was so amazing in their treatment of Niko. Dr. Britt was on duty and she explained to us that Niko got stung by a bee. She showed us the stinger they found in his foot. He had anaphylactic shock from a bee sting! It honestly looked like Niko was dead when we brought him, and these wonderful people brought him back to life! By the next morning, he was jumping around having fun again, & back to his normal self. We are so grateful to Erin, Brandee, Aaron, Brittany & Dr. Britt for saving our sweet Niko! I don’t think any vet could have matched the abilities of this one or could have been as caring & loving. They are the best!
