I moved in in February of 23 and have had nothing but great experiences so far. I am on a 3 bed 2.5 bath and really love the place even though it is smaller than the housing I had in VA. The housing office has always been great and were very helpful while I was on the wait list keeping me well informed. The amenities are nice though I do wish we had a community pool instead of a splash pad, but the pad is great for younger children. I love the dog park and the people living in housing are a great community. Playgrounds everywhere for the little ones and walking access to the elementary school. Base police come out to watch traffic in the morning when the herds of elementary school kids are walking and riding bikes to school. Maintenance has always been very timely and will fix any issues to your satisfaction.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! People always say live where you love and love where you live and that’s 100% true for NSB Kings Bay housing!I’ve lived in base housing (2/1 apt) for 4 years. This is absolutely the best housing experience I’ve ever had and I’m upset with myself that I didn’t move in sooner. The staff is outstanding and so friendly. The maintenance staff is top notch, they’re so friendly and knowledgeable and get the repairs done so quickly. The community events are always fun and they include events for family’s, kids and pets. This is the best pet friendly environment and I love that they don’t have a dog weight limit or pet fee like every other rental places in town. My 111 pound German Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix loves watching the deer grazing along the entrance to the neighborhood and and I love that there are waste bag dispensers and trash cans along the sidewalks throughout the community.

The 2b 1bath apartment home I have is very spacious and has sooo much storage. I love my apartment and the carport is an added bonus especially when it is so hot out. I love the many playgrounds throughout the community and the splash pad is a great way to cool off and get some energy out for the littles. The office staff is super kind and attentive to any questions or concerns. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Over the weekend I placed a few work orders to fix some small things around the apartment that were noticed when we moved in and early this morning Dante and Larry from maintenance showed up and knocked them out very quickly and professionaly. I really appreciate their prompt service and attention to detail and their patience in answering my basic questions about the work. Thanks!

Honestly, the reviews on Google of base housing (Kings Bay) had me terrified. I was desperately searching for a home or apartment, because I did NOT want to end up here. We even put an offer on a home, but luckily another offer was accepted over ours.We moved into our new home (3BD/2.5B) on April 12. It is just under 1200 square foot which I was dreading. But, they are so strategic and the layout of the home is PERFECT. It is everything we needed, and they ensure plenty of storage. The virtual tour does not do this sweet home justice. The natural lighting is perfect. The lights they have installed are amazing. The apartment I moved from might have been larger/ more updated/ bigger kitchen/ etc, but it has nothing on this little townhome!Karen made the transition to our home so smooth, and they left us a sweet welcome bag. Which THANK YOU because it had toilet paper for my pregnant self (it truly was a life saver lol). Jenna was the absolute SWEETEST soul and gave us our tour before moving in. She encouraged us and let us know of how hard the office works with connecting with its community.MAINTENANCE IS AMAZING. Thank you KYLE! Our dead bolt wasn’t working properly, which we noticed on day 1 of moving in (April 12). Called the maintenance and they immediately made an emergency ticket for it. Within the next 30 minutes I cancelled the work order because my husband got it to lock. I received a call from Kyle, who called to check on us and ask if we could secure the home. The next morning I received another call to check up on the work order. Long story short, I ended up continuing the work order because the dead bolt only worked if you pushed the door in reallly hard. Kyle came same day (April 13) and ended up getting it fixed! He went above and beyond to make it happen. On April 15 (A Saturday) we called maintenance about our AC. It took us several days to realize it wasn’t working. I made the work order and within FIVE MINUTES, Kyle called us. He is the sweetest & hardest working guy! He takes care of his residents! He let us know the AC guy (Larrryyyy) wasn’t available until Monday. But he offered booking us into Navy Lodging and bringing us a portable AC unit. We declined the Navy lodge but he immediately says “well let me at least bring the Portable AC unit, I can be there in 30 minutes!”. He hooked it up in our 1 year olds room and it worked perfect. Then bright and early him and Larry showed up on Monday and fixed the AC! They are the best.I’m just blown away by the community here, and every person we have met. I hope all of the negative comments don’t deter you from trying NSB kings bay homes. :)

Worst housing office I've ever had to deal with. Extremely unorganized scheduled work never happens, Or isn't told to resident when it will be performed. Homes are old and falling apart. Honestly last and only option

I get it. obviously active-duty personnel get priority. I've contacted this place multiple times. The one time i went in person, i was treated poorly. I've called, and the person hung up on me. Email, no response. What will happen now is someone will write a response to this review with some bs response. Why is the government contracted with this horrible company???

I always lower my expectations when it comes to base housing. generally speaking, the conditions of the homes are poor to fair on average and good at best. But the management team at Kings Bay has subverted all my expectations in navy housing in becoming the most dysfunctional property management company I have ever seen. The home is old, which came to no great surprise, and with it comes all the problems of being a older home. the smell of mildew coming from places where water passes such as the sinks and toilets; the doors not functioning as they should; the home isn't even level as seen by the way some doors swing open on their own and some swing shut. the suspicion was confirmed when I took an actual level to the walls. Despite all these issues and many more, the house is still livable so long as a decent property management team can assist in fixing any problems that may arise. This is where BBC Kings Bays failures are truly seen.It started with a toilet that I noted wasn't flushing, I made a note of it before I accepted the house and asked that it be fixed. After a month of maintenance attempting to fix the problem, they decided to have the issue resolved by a third party. (i.e. a professional plumber) this was not scheduled for an additional month. When I called to complain about the timeliness of the issue, I was met with an apology, followed by a "this usually never happens". I accepted this, granting them the grace and understanding that mistakes happen, that is until it happened again, and again. Issue after Issue taking weeks to get resolution because someone forgot to put in the maintenance request, ran my patients thin. Finally, a HVAC maintenance overhaul was scheduled for our home without our request. It is scheduled to take close to a month to complete the maintenance, in which me and my family will be relocated to a hotel room at the Navy lodge. I have a wife, a 3 year old, a 6 month old, a cat and a German Shepard. all of which are expected to suddenly move from the premises and into a single hotel room for the better part of a month. during which, the contractors will have access to the home and all of our belongings in it. and we are not permitted to return unless we receive permission from the management team to be escorted back to the home to retrieve some of our possessions. Not only was this unacceptable, but it was not at all written into the lease that they can displace us from the premises for maintenance. When I asked to negotiate the terms to make it more acceptable, I was met with Gale letting me know that "the base captain said we can do this, so we're going to do it anyway". I then sent my wife and children away the day before the maintenance was scheduled for to live with my mother in Massachusetts for the duration of the maintenance while I stay in the hotel. I then receive a call from Gale informing me that the maintenance that was scheduled for today, has been postponed until next month.I don't know if its a communication problem within the company's staff or if the management of the company is just truly horrific, but it is disgraceful that servicemen and women are subjected to such disrespect and disregard. If you were planning on signing with BBC Kings Bay, I urge you to reconsider, as you're concerns are placed last on the priorities of the BBC management staff.I am editing some of my review due to the fact that after I called corporate and filed a formal complaint, I then began to see resolution to my issue. I would to see more effort like this in the future as well as confirmation emails regarding scheduled maintenance to alleviate any confusion and allow for accountability to be held when either party (resident or maintenance team) cannot show up on time for maintenance. that way I'm not wasting your time, and you're not wasting mine.

If I could give 0 stars I would. By far the worst housing office my family has ever had to deal with. No one seems to care about the residents. They’re extremely unorganized, no communication with the team and maintenance, and it takes forever to get simple maintenance orders done due to the lack of communication on the office’s end. I honestly suggest you consider these homes a last resort option.

I went into the office directly a couple of weeks ago to inquire about housing for myself as a future civilian employee. I was forced to wait into a 4x4 leveled off area for about 5 min before I was acknowledged by an employee. Im not sure if was related to Covid? None of the employees were wearing masks so it left me confused. Nevertheless, I asked about some info on housing and was immediately told "we dont offer housing for civilians right now." Then I was told to "hold on and let me check with someone else." I waited additional 15 min while I listen to someone speak on the phone that I assumed was going to help me? I finally left as I became inpatient. In conclusion, the representative who initially spoke with me was very rude and unpleasant. I dont know if she was having a bad day? Poor customer service!!!!!

The housing itself is not bad. My complaint is for whatever reason the power keeps going out every week, for 4 to 6 hours at a time and no clue why....so majority of the time sitting here with no power....food in our fridge goes bad...it's just not a fun experience at all...I hope someone at housing is going to pay for replacement groceries ebryime this happens. Oh and worse thing is, power goes out without a warning...

They will nickel and dime you. Just as bad as a overexcentric HOA but with extremely low standard housing. Apartments are out of fire code with no smoke detectors in many rooms. Do the smart thing and rent out in the economy.

This has been a great experience, getting moved into our new home. A pleasant surprise during the COVID19 restrictions.Though, due to COVID19, we could not make a in-person meeting within the home, we were always able to get in touch with someone whenever we needed a question answered. The staff was professional without having to rush us with any paperwork. We are happy to meet people who are polite and respectful, we feel welcomed. The home itself was nicely prepared for our family. It was sanitized, smelled fresh, there wasn't any damage to the interior or exterior. The floor plan that was offered to me ended up being the exact same as the home we recieved, we're happy about this. Our neighbors are friendly and have already greeted and welcomed us. Noise is not a problem here, the neighborhood is clean, and the mailwoman is friendly. The Kings Bay Offices are located nearby in the community and have staffed phone numbers for nearly any circumstance.Overall, we're happy. We appreciate friendly and welcoming people when it comes to business.
