Absolutely excellent place to take your rabbits. My baby Licorice came here for her spay a while ago and then today for her yearly physical. I come from about 30 miles away so ended up getting caught in traffic and after calling to see what my grace period was, they told me to not worry and just get there safely. Licorice is always well taken care of and I feel confident bringing her here. Excellent doctor and staff!

I am the Bunny mom to 32 small rabbits. When it came time to spay/neuter my babies I asked some of my friends, who also have small animal pets, where I should go. They told me about the wonderful lower cost spay/neuter days that Windward Animal Hospital have each month. I started this process about 2 years ago and in December we will be doing bunnies 23 and 24. We love the people there they have been so kind and helpful. They even kept having these special days during the Covid time. I highly recommend Windward Animal Hospital for your exotic pets.

I just want to give a big shout-out to Windward Animal Hospital for being so reliable and dependable during a GI stasis scare with one of my bunnies. Windward had me bring her and her husbun in together as a drop-off even though it was a really busy day for them as they were doing spay/neuters for the GHRS rabbits.I really appreciate their concern, some Vets would've just said they were booked but Windward wanted to see our sweet girl and make sure she was okay, and our bunnies stayed with them for the day and they took superb care of them. The Vet Dr. Colby really goes out of his way for the animals and his staff is excellent. I can't remember his Vet nurse's name, but the tall gentleman with the dark curly hair is very pleasant and reassuring. He's a really good guy. He's told me before and he reminded me again this recent visit, that if we need anything or have any questions to please give them a call. It's just really comforting to know that Windward has our bunnies backs in case of emergency. I can't say enough good things about this Vet office. Thanks again Windward for being 5star top notch quality and caring for the animals like y'all do.

My rabbit got GI stasis after surgery. I left a message after hours at Windward- I was called immediately first thing in the morning and told to bring her in right away and they'd be waiting for us. (Christina at the front desk is sooo sweet!) Despite Dr. Colby's office being slammed with waiting patients, he and his staff took my rabbit back right away. They were all so kind and took their time to answer my questions and make sure I felt confident administering medicine at home. I never felt rushed or like I was inconveniencing them since they had a dozen appointments waiting. I have complete confidence in this vet clinic when it comes to rabbit care and would highly recommend it to anyone with a bunny! I'm so grateful I found them. And don't worry- he has a lot of nurses so you never have to wait long even though his clinic is always bustling!

New bunny Mom with absolutely no experience or knowledge. Christine, the Veterinarian, and techs were so kind and caring. They all went above and beyond to take care of bunny boy and make sure we are prepared and comfortable. No one ever pressured me into extras and understood my financial position. We Absolutely love them and will definitely be back for all of Bunny’s care.

Dr Colby has been my rabbits’ vet for over two years. One of my rabbits has some genetic health issues and has needed many treatments to make and keep him healthy. Dr Colby has treated him for Medullary Washout (Kidney), eye removal, a tooth lodged in his sinuses, sutured a whole in the back of his mouth leading to his sinuses, and chronic sinus infections caused by poor teeth. A lesser doctor would not have been able to treat many of these issues. Dr Colby is relentless in his pursuit of solutions and will go as far with treatment options as the animal’s owner agrees. I firmly believe any other exotic vet would not have had the skills to treat such a fragile rabbit. He is an expert in rabbits and there is a reason the local House Rabbit Shelter recommend him so highly. I trust Dr Colby with my beloved family pets and recommend him to everyone, especially those with exotic animals. Additionally, his staff are very knowledgeable, courteous, and caring.

DO NOT go here!!! My daughter took her 12 year old bunny here and left in tears! It’s a common issue for rabbits to have eye infections and this so called vet would not give her antibiotics unless she completed over $700 worth of services. So her poor elderly bunny is suffering from an eye infection for absolutely no reason!! What a sick man to leave an an animal in pain!!!! She just moved to the Atlanta area and has always received proper care as her bunny is 12 years old and obviously well taken care of!

Just wanted to warn anyone who is looking for a vet to avoid windward animal hospital.Give your fur babies hugs today…“I thought Dr. Colby was a superstar before he charged and performed routine yearly shots on my dog days before he recommended euthanizing her. He said he lost hope and recommended euthanasia after I told him we were struggling to pay the high bills he charged us. I can't make this up. We went to him for years, and the day he put my dog to sleep, they asked us to pay a $160 fee before they would put her to rest. She was suffering and we had to wait. Who does that? we had always paid him. There was no previous history of any issues there. We were all crying, and he showed zero compassion. No condolences - not even a card, nothing. He was extremely condescending, telling me to get "my heart and head right". Who does that when your best friend is suffering? When I confronted him about my concerns his response was, "I always did my best to give you discounts", as if this was just about the money. I trusted him for years, and the best he could do was respond with "sorry you feel that way" and offered to send my other dog's records to the new vet when I find one.I have learned since that he did something similar to someone who owned a rabbit. It's sickening that he takes advantage of people and gives animals shots / tests they don't need. I can not express how disappointed I am and hope you learn from my mistake. There are many vets out there. Find one who truly cares about animals and people.” Windward Animal Hospital

They took such good care of my rabbit, Juniper. She was spayed and sheared by them and it was always the most pleasant experience. The staff is the best.

I bring all my Guinea pigs here. Dr Colby invites us back to see their xrays and is open about what’s going on. Very cool vet, he’s definitely into what he does.My Guinea pigs have been through cysts, strokes, a bad foot and bladder stones. I trust them with their attention every time and will always go to them for my pets. Thank you all so much for the outstanding care you give them ❤️

I'm so torn leaving this review. We took my sweet hamster who was just over a year old to see Dr. Colby. She had a lump that we opted to remove for quality of life. Our Rosie was a very happy and active hamster; however, five hours after surgery she had scratched her incision open. I found her unresponsive, insides exposed and slowly passing away. $436 and our hamster was gone before dinner. I wish I had known. I wish I done research to buy things to help prevent her scratching. I wish I had know what her scratching would do. We were told to call if the incision opened but never imagined her insides would be exposed or the slow death that would occur. It was absolutely heartbreaking. The reason I am leaving this review is because nobody followed up. Dr. Colby was responsive to text but when we attempted to call in a complete panic, no answer. We were told to simply love her and let her pass. That took two extremely emotional hours of watching her suffer slowly. No call that night. No call the next day. I get she was a hamster but we lost a huge part of our hearts that evening. She was part of our family. Side note. The lady who runs the front desk is not very friendly or empathetic. Don't bother trying to make conversation. It's very forced.

I rescued a rabbit back in December for a wound the previous owner couldn’t handle. Turns out the little girl had MULTIPLE abscesses all over her face. Dr. Colby and his staff have done a wonderful job of treating her back to health. They are kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable! I feel really lucky to have such a reliable hospital to take my Judy to. You guys are the best and thank you so much for everything you do!!!!
