This is our family’s favorite store on the island! We have been coming to Jekyll at least twice a year for at least a decade and always buy something from here every time we come. Not sure why anybody would leave a negative review of this place. That’s just weird! Whittle’s rules!!!

Cashier was very rude. This place has always been unwelcoming and has treated customers poorly. Go elsewhere.

I wish I had a way to give 0 stars. I had a horrible experience here. The gentleman was extremely rude. I walked out and was telling my mom about the experience and she said was it wittles? She reminded me that as a child(we've been coming since I was born) they were always so rude. I'm talkng to the point we refused to go back in there. I didn't pay attention to the sign before we walked in tonight and I wish I had. A family business is not a birthright or a right in general. You still have to earn respect from customers and show appreciation for those that have kept that same family business afloat all these years. It is an absolute shame that these owners are so entitled that they think it's ok to treat people with disrespect. There are plenty of other shops that have staff who show respect and appreciation. Do not spend a dime here.

Store isn't dog friendly and the man was extremely rude about it. I have traveled the entire country with my small dog and this is the first touristy type store I've been to that he wasn't allowed to enter. The dog is very old and can't walk so I carry him in a bag. There's no issues with him having any accidents anywhere or causing any damage.
The guy in the store was very rude. So much for that so called southern hospitality. There was no greeting and an apology that dogs aren't allowed. Instead he just yelled out "no dogs" when I entered. I told the guy the dog will stay in the bag and his response was that it doesn't matter, no dogs. I can appreciate the no pets policy but he should learn to be more polite when informing potential customers about it.
So if you are a dog lover, don't bother patronizing this business. Spend your money elsewhere.

It’s a shame I have to give a star at all in order to rate this place. I think he sells children’s toys so that his power trippin’ self has a reason to gripe at children who are doing nothing but potentially getting their parents to spend their money in his store. I’m not sure why someone so miserable would remain in retail (selling children’s toys) in a heavy tourism area. 0/10 do not recommend a visit until this man gets some help with his attitude.

Unfortunately the older gentleman was very rude from the moment we walked in the door. Not a place we will visit again. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice, especially to your paying customers.

This is always my first stop when I get to the island. All of the people who are saying he's rude - I would be rude as well if your children were touching everything in my store. There are signs that clearly say please ask for assistance before touching. Maybe follow the rules and he won't be rude. Simple. Love this store so much!

The cashier seemed OK. Cute little store. The items do seem to be cheaply made, but I did find this cute daisy turtle for only $4.75! There is a $0.75 fee if you are using a card.

The entire store is full of garbage. Whoever the check out counter guy is yelled at my kid (very chill older kid ) for touching a toy airplane that was already on the ground. I told him to never speak to my child or any child that way. You speak to the adult. He's a garbage person. I hope this store goes bankrupt.

We were shopping in Jekyll today and my daughter saw a cute windmill in front of a store, she played with it a bit and the rudest man came out and snatched them up and said watch your kids better.....Like all the other reviews say, this guy is super rude. Do not frequent this business.

Beware! If I could rate this store less than 1 star I would, a minus 5 would be more accurate. Terrible customer service and no returns for any reason. I just bought several souvenir items at Whittles while on vacation with my family. The person (older, grumpy gentleman) at the cashier was very rude to me and my kids. He would not allow us to return a necklace that I had purchased less a few min after walking out the door. The necklace broke as I was trying it on my son on the sidewalk outside of the store. The rude sales clerk said he wouldn’t allow a return because my kid broke it. His words were, “won’t broke when you left here and this ain’t Walmart.” Apparently the quality of items for sale in this store are less than Walmart (minus the option to exchange something that defective and encounter professional, kind employees). Don't shop here it’s a waste of money. Would love to know who the owner is.
