Great little museum with excellent and helpful staff. Very much worth visiting. My sister LOVES the tours and goes on them every annual visit!
*****I Do Not Recommend the scavenger hunt currently going on as of Aug 2024!!! I sincerely hope the discrepancies brought to the attention of the staff have been rectified! My poor sister spent two days in the insufferable heat and humidity of the Georgia Coast trying to figure it all out and this is a very intelligent woman familiar with the historic district and the history of the island, NOT your average tourist.
That being said the staff was really great in trying to help as much as they could without giving answers and were receptive when my sister showed them pictures explaining how the puzzles and clues literally didn't add up; there was one clue/ letter too many! And one clue had her looking for something that was once there and now was not with no real indication of where to even start!! Talk about confusing!
If anyone from Mosaic/ Jekyll sees this, the scavenger hunt was a Great idea, but Aug is a terrible time of year to have it, it's just too blisteringly hot. And next time please double and triple check to make sure your hunt doesn't lead your poor patrons on a wild goose chase..

Very small museum with a heavy emphasis on segregation and black culture on the island (and surrounding areas). I thought it was very one-sided in this regard it should have included an equal showing of all historic people that helped shape Jekyll Island.

So interactive our toddler loved the museum and had fun which doesn’t always happen at museums. Loved reading the history - so much has happened at Jekyll!

Wonderful museum about the history of Jekyll Island. The tour, Well perhaps a little disappointing in terms of it only making one stop, was very well done.

We did not have a positive experience with the museum and trolley car experience. We pre ordered our tickets with a 9:30 trolley time. We were in the lobby at 9:28. We were told that there was no record of our purchased tickets and the trolley leaves at 9:30. The attendant reviewed online purchases AFTER the online receipt was provided. The desk attendant finally researched to determine that we did indeed have tickets for the 9:30 trolley. We were told we could wait for the 1030 ride and that they had a no return policy. Imagine being told to wait and explore the museum with an active 2 year old for an hour? I will not be returning nor can I support the museum. Very poor customer service.

We absolutely loved our tour of the historic grounds on Jekyll Island, in the new “Model T Ford” and our tour guide Cathy. Just alot of fun. Also many thanks to our daughter, Natalie, for treating her Mom and me to this special treat. She knows what we enjoy.
But it certainly didn’t end there. Included with our tour price was the gem; Faith Chapel. A huge Thank You goes to our host Randy Jones. You know instantly that Randy truly loves his position there. He is self taught and well learned. He knows so much about the chapel and gladly answers all questions, very patiently.
We enjoyed his sharing of the incredible story of the church.
Sincerely P. Mark McCartney and family

The so called expert here is no expert at all. The smallest bit of research from accredited resources will tell you this. Not sure where you got her from. Lazy and preoccupied to say the least
