My 7 year old bought some children's rings for her friends while we where down at our last visit and when we shipped them some got lost in the mail. So I called and asked to purchase more rings and if they could ship them. The woman who answered was so much more than rude to me and repeatedly asked why I wanted to buy cheap rings and have them mailed. I was cut off, multiple times while trying to make my request. My point is it's MY money to spend (if she had ever answered my question of how much it was to ship an item or items) I was willing to pay what ever as well as buy a few items to make it worth both our time and effort. She was so rude, just plain unpleasant and completely unhelpful, asking over and over again "why do you want kids rings they are a dollar.. cheap dollar rings why do you want more of them??" One why is she saying they sell cheap things and trying to cast my business aside, Two isn't it my choice as to what is important to my child and what I want to spend my money on? She has 3 friends who are def and mute, they all travel all summer and each purchase a little something for each other when they are out. This woman could have cared less about my business , my past loyalty to the shop, and the fact that she just lost myself and all our family and friends future business. I am so upset with this as ALL the shops on Jekyll have always been so welcoming and friendly and they do carry the same items that are in the shop "The Island House" so don't waste your time or money here just go to the other shops they will have what you need and be MUCH more helpful and welcoming to a return and new customers. Shame on you "The Island House" for crushing not only 1 but 4 children and their efforts to keep a true friendship alive through learning with summer fun .My family has owned a home on the island for over 45 years. We love to visit many time through out the year. Our family and I love to support the local shops by advertising for them in our rental houses. We shop multiple times a year at most shops if not all of them every time we visit..Worse Customer Service ever!
