They have bikes that are free with the room and delicious chocolate chip cookies daily. We walked to the beach and enjoyed a relaxing weekend without ever getting in the car! Very nice experience-excellent rooms and service! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful!”

437 Kings Way, St Simons Island“To start off, this is a 1940's motel, a lot of renovations but it still shows in the room. Cracks in tile, old stains in the floor. Overall clean, we did ask that they dust the air vents and the main light fixtures that were covered in dust for our daughters allergies. That did not happen during our stay. We did report a lamp not working in the living room and the office staff fixed that right away. The room is perfect for a small family, the bathroom is very tiny but it is clean.
The linens were clean and house keeping was accommodating with plenty of towels and changing our trash daily. We asked the office staff member with glasses (male) to help us clean the pool or make sure the pool filter was working. It did storm the day before but nothing was being sucked out of the pool by the filter. My husband and I cleaned it more than 15 times for our kids and it was still full of dirt. We never saw anyone help with the pool. We had to ask for towels. This same staff member smoking daily by the front door to the office was a major turn off . Also the lack of greeting guests. We would walk by and he would continue smoking like we were in his way. The rooms are very sound proof and the linens are clean. I do wish the rooms were dusted better and the pool was kept up more.
Rooms: Sound proof, older but clean. Clean linens.
Safety: Felt safe
Walkability: Close to Pier village
Food & drinks: Gas station near by and pier village for restaurants”

609 Beachview Dr, St Simons Island“Aptly named so you know it's a great location. We just wished we could have stayed longer. We had w nice view from our roomn which was bright and beachy. The bed was comfy, everything was clean and breakfast was decent. No complaints really except the parking is a little tight under the hotel. The pool is small, but there was a additional patio area. We didn't have time to visit anyway. Maybe next time.
Walkability: Walk to shops and plenty of restaurants or out to the fishing pier.”
“My stay started off bad. The room that we had, had a pest problem. We notified the GM Caleb of the problem and he instantly exchanged our room to a bigger and better room. Comped us for the previous nights and dinner for two on them for the remainder of our vacation. Changed what I thought was going to be a terrible stay, to one of the most memorable vacations. Truly a great staff and an even greater leader in the GM Caleb. I will be back in the future.”
“Planning my wedding at The Westin was incredible! Working with Missouri was such a treat, and I will never forget how she went above and beyond for us on our day and leading up to it. The food was incredible and the employees working our wedding were also so incredible and accommodating. Lisa was so kind and also went above and beyond for us. We are so happy with how everything turned out. It was absolutely without a doubt, the best day of our lives. Thank you, Missouri, and everyone at The Westin! We will be back soon to celebrate our marriage and lives together!”
“To be clear, my experience is with the roof top restaurant and the service I received on my last two visits.
Outstanding. The team is new (believed to be under new ownership or management) --- but my experience on both visits were great. The views are about the best for St Simons Island ... and the happy hour prices cannot be beat.
Regardless of any past experiences, lighten up --- and give them another try. Bartender is very willing to accommodate anything he has access to for making you the perfect cocktail. The appetizers are perfect and the burger is great. YOU cannot beat the prices, the view, and the service. What more can you expect. The world needs to just relax and stop being so critical and mean. Enjoy it, be glad you're on the island .... good grief enjoy it.
I will be back ... THANK YOU Ocean Lodge Restaurant staff!”

701 Beachview Dr N, Jekyll Island“There’s a lot of chatter about this hotel, and after staying there for a couple of nights I can understand the mixed reviews. I don’t think any of these reviews are “wrong” in their assessments, but it all comes down to what you value, how you set your expectations, and maybe a little bit of luck.Heres what I loved about the Holiday Inn Resort on Jekyll Island - because of the way the hotel was built motel style parallel to the ocean, all of the rooms (save those behind the new restaurant being built) have an amazing ocean view. You can watch the sunrise over the ocean from most room windows, the attached patio or balcony, or take a short stroll to the beach. The lobby and common area are nicely appointed and there’s the most adorable and lovely lady (Linda) who serves coffee to guests on the third floor in the mornings (with pastry like items for purchase). The restaurant next door serves a buffet breakfast and while the service is slow the food is decent and the screened in porch is divine in the morning sun. They lit the fire in the fire pit each night (doesn’t warm you but looks pretty and is a nice place to socialize with other guests) and the pool was warm. They also played an outdoor movie on Friday night that would have been very fun had it been warmer while we were there. My daughter had fun playing on the little playground by the pool. I found the front desk staff to be courteous and always available to help. I am pregnant and thought the beds were very comfortable and medium soft. The sheets and pillows were in good shape and clean too. The rooms are pretty large and have a small kitchenette area with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. All of the guests we met were nice people and seemed to be having a good time. This is a great hotel for families. All that said, yes the rooms are worn down and they could have been cleaner. They need plumbing work and ultimately the rooms (and bathrooms in particular) need a renovation.* Part of the problem is that the foot wash from the beach is rusted out completely so sand gets tracked into tubs and the pool. While the pool water seemed well treated (i think it’s a salt water pool) it desperately needed to be vacuumed. Some of the pool cushions and seating were tattered or frayed, which is a little thing with a big impact on the overall appearance of the place. There was a cigar butt on the window sill of our room when we arrived and one of the towels had tooth paste on it. Kinda gross but not a vacation ruining experience unless you let it be.In summary, this hotel is really a fantastic value for a beach front room on a gorgeous island. If you are a looking for a high end, spa-like resort, then you should stay at the club resort on the western side of the island. If you are looking for an unfussy, laid back vibe and can overlook a few things, you’re going to love it here, just as we did!*The consideration in renovating these rooms is that it will surely make this hotel more expensive. One can’t have it all!Suggestions for management - fix the foot wash by the beach, invest in plumbing maintenance, get the pool area spruced up, consider having housekeeping clean rooms every other day so they have more time to ensure rooms are very clean between guests (especially with more attention paid to bathrooms).”
“We stayed at this hotel to attend a marriage retreat hosted by my job. My wife and I really enjoyed the location of the hotel and the access to the beach it provides. We also liked that the several restaurants were within a 5 min. drive. The room we stayed in was spacious. It was better than expected. The staff was really friendly and the service was great. My wife said that the complementary champagne at check-in was definitely a plus.”
