I'm disappointed to say that my local thrift store has become a shadow of its former self. The prices have skyrocketed to absurd levels, seemingly based on eBay values rather than local market demand. This wouldn't be a problem if we were in a bustling city, but in our small town, it's simply unsustainable.
I miss the days when thrift shopping was a lifeline for low-income families like mine, providing access to quality items at affordable prices. It was a way to furnish our homes, clothe our kids, and find hidden gems without breaking the bank. Now, it feels like a luxury only the privileged can afford.
What's even more disheartening is that these items are donated by our community, with the intention of helping those in need. It's unacceptable to price them out of reach for the very people they're meant to assist. There's no need to be greedy with skyrocketing prices when the items are freely given.
As a result, the store is cluttered with overpriced items that have been sitting on shelves for months. It's clear that they're not adapting to the local customer base and instead are trying to cater to an online market. I've seen the same items collecting dust for far too long, and it's a shame.
I remember when this store was a treasure trove of affordable second-hand gems. Now, it feels like a pricey boutique. Until they reassess their pricing strategy and return to their roots of serving the local community, I'll be taking my thrift shopping elsewhere.

Great thrift shop. I’m not sure what the review was referring to about stuff being piled up with no real aisles…the entire shop was neat, items are all priced and displayed nicely. I left with a couple of nice finds today. Would love to stop in again if in the area.

This is a great little honey hole. I never leave without buying something. The store is organized and offers a large variety of items at great prices. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.

The pictures are Obviously from a very long time ago! There's so much stuff they have things just piled on top of other things. there are no clear aisles & I couldn't even get to a lot of items I wanted to. Makes it very hard to look over items to buy. Can't see whole sofas or sit on them. Also a bit pricey for a thrift store. Needless to say I didn't purchase anything.

Please be careful when shopping at this place. Always check your total before paying at register. Long story short, they have signs with pricing everywhere in the store. I had an idea around how much I was supposed to pay. After paying and getting in my car, I had a cold feeling that I had been overcharged. I checked my receipt and I had been charged at least $1 or $2 more on each item. She charged me around $8 more. I was upset and went back inside and told her exactly what I got and told her to come look at the signs with me. She immediately told me to just grab two more items that she couldn’t give me my money back. I know I should have asked to speak to a manger, but I was thrown off from the whole situation. I hope others can learn from my experience.

Highly impressed with my visit today. The staff members were very friendly. Also, the number of clothing items have increased greatly since the last time I shopped there. Wednesday and Fridays are bag days so you get eight pieces of clothing for $7. Definitely filled my bag today. ?

Don’t let the exterior fool you. I’ll admit, I was unattracted to the place but a town neighbor suggested I check it out and I’m so glad that I did! I hit the lularoe jackpot on tops. Every piece still had the tags on it as well. This is a thrift store that provides a financial ministry to a battered women and children’s shelter. This is not a consignment shop. It’s comical to see how many folks get worked up because the volunteered staff won’t allow them to bring their items in to sell. Consignment and thrift are 2 totally different things. They do the best they can with organization, this isn’t a chain like goodwill where they have several part timers on their payroll. There are only so many sets of hands providing their time and labor unpaid… If they close at 5pm then don’t go in at 4:50 expecting to circle the entire store and get upset when these women tell you that they’re closing. Be strategic, it’s mindless and very disregarding of others when customers walk in at the last minute with the expectation that the staff should stay there and put their personal lives/families on hold while you shop around at your leisure. They’re freely giving their time to this place so it’s only right that they get to leave at the time that they’re designated too. Come on folks, common sense.
