Dr. Tyler is a fantastic vet and really took care of my 14 year old baby as well as my mom and I who were so stressed. My dog had an ulcerated tumor that had to be removed surgically or we would have had to put him down. They were able to get our dog in the very next day and removed it, saving our fur buddy and allowing him to continue living a high quality of life. Jennifer was also so sweet and reassuring. Everyone was so kind and the price was beyond affordable. Thank you!!!

Such a caring and wonderful team! I had to bring in my beloved cat to say goodbye and they fit me in on a Friday afternoon and were nothing but loving and compassionate. They helped me go through the sad process with as much time as I needed. They were so gentle with both of us. I will never forget their kindness.

I will not be held hostage by a veterinarian over flea medication. Your prices are fair and I love the doctor but NO! I will not have my dog eaten alive by fleas because I have to wait 6 weeks for an appointment. It took me 3 minutes to find a new veterinary clinic and I got him in today. GO POUND SAND!

We love Dr. Cox and the staff at PAR Vet Hospital. They have cared for our pets for years. We hope Dr. Cox is able to save the practice, but it doesn't look promising.

Just a shout out for the wonderful doctors and techs! My sweet kitty Salem was attacked by a dog and they told us to bring him in immediately they got him cleaned up and comfortable to get x-rays. They were able to quickly let us know that there were no broken bones or internal injures. He was home in just a few hours with followup care and meds. 3 days out and he's beginning to move around more, eating and drinking. So thankful for these vets!

We have had a very scary morning with our 10 week old pyrenees puppy, we woke up to him gagging like he was choking on something. We went to 2! Not 1 but 2 different vets and no one would help us, they wouldn't even look at him to see if he was choking. Our 3rd vet was pickens animal rescue and even though it was Tuesday and they were closed for their surgery day they took him right back and checked him out!! Turns out he wasn't even choking, he has kennel cough. Had the first 2 vets had even took the time to look at him they would have seen that. We are so grateful to pickens animal rescue for just taking the time to check on him for us and they didn't hesitate to start treatment. We highly recommend this vet!! They really saved our morning!!

This used to be a great vet’s office. I’ve been taking my dogs here for years, but apparently they have a new office manager and new veterinarians and I will not be going here anymore. Dr. Cox’s bedside manner is severely lacking and it comes across as though they only care about getting as much money as they can.

Words can't explain how relieved I am that this office exists. My dog was severely injured from a dog attack and they were able to see him as soon as I could trap him and get him up there. I had to drop him off because they were busy, but I feel like they managed his pain and treated him well. He already looks 100 times better than he did this morning.I will be using them as my regular vet for my little terrier from now on. I can't recommend this place more!

Posting this as a warning to those with fur babies. I highly do NOT recommend Pickens county Animal Rescue veterinarian hospital to care for your babies. My dog is extremely Ill and needs attention immediately. In a pinch I googled the closest open hospital near me and got in the car. We arrived at the hospital to find their doors locked so we called for an emergency visit. I understand having an appt only policy yet when I explained the situation the tech on the phone very bluntly told me their vet would absolutely deny my request to be seen and I needed to go elsewhere. How dare you claim to be an “emergency vet “ and not even give me the time of day. Now I’m on a 45 minute drive to blue ridge praying my baby makes it because you turned me away. You should be ashamed claiming to be a nonprofit animal loving placePosted directly from their site“Pickens Animal Rescue’s desire to offer after-hours veterinarian services to the Jasper area that doesn’t charge additional fees just because the sun has set or it’s a national holiday, was their goal. Pickens Animal Rescue, Inc. was able to build upon the economical and outstanding reputation thier organization has built in the community and expand their services to include this much needed and anticipated clinic.” What a joke.Signed a VERY upset pet mommy

You need to make an appointment. I believe they handle some emergency or walk in. Not a huge staff (I don't think anyway.) They were patient & kind and just great with my babies. Will be my new "go to" vet. Normally go to Sunrise, which is fine, but very costly. These people don't over charge in my opinion, and stick to what is actually needed. It can be a challenge on a fixed income. I'm a "60++ something" senior.

Tried to bring a car in that had been attacked by a dog, an obvious emergency. Was told they were booked up and had to go to emergency vet in Blue Ridge. All they want is to do shots and spat/neuter, not really worried about animal care or well being.
