Sweet Mia crossed the rainbow bridge on Thursday, Feb 29th at 6:30pm.
That morning, she was taken to Animal Medical Clinic in Jasper to be spayed. They called at 10:30 to say that she made it through surgery, was doing well, and that she could be picked up at 3:00. Then at 3:00, they wanted her to stay another hour because she was “holding on to the anesthesia “. At 4:00, she still was not awake but they sent her home. They said that it wasn’t common but that it happens occasionally and she would be ok. They said to keep her warm and let her sleep it off. Emergency vet thought differently. Unfortunately, she did not live long enough to get her there. Dr. Chester and staff left her LIFELESS for SIX hours before they let us know anything.

The best place I have been in so long. Doctor is an angel God send us, and his assistant too. They really love animals here, not for the money like most places or so called Animal Hospitals. I wish I had found this place before my fur baby passed away. But still have 7 more to watch over doctor.

So took our dog to dr. Chester today; he comes into the waiting room with still bloody gloves on, patting another person waiting in the shoulder, walking through door ways and starts using the computer and everything with these same bloody gloves. This isn't even OUR DOGS BLOOD. our dog had an xray, no blood taken and no surgery. So he came to talk to us about our dog with a different dogs blood and hair all over his gloves; it would have taken him 2 seconds to take them off and throw them in the trash. Instead he contaminated at least 3 rooms, a person outside in the waiting room, and their own equipment and our dog.
I should also mention this isn't the first time we've seen him; one our our older dogs had a tumor and we took her to him. He didn't run any tests or draw blood or anything he just LOOKED at it and knew it "wasn't cancerous" so he did surgery to remove it; our dog flat lined for 15 minutes before he was able to resuscitate her; 3 days later she was completely blind, deaf, and wouldn't eat or drink. We ended up having to take her to a different vet to have her put down. She probably would have lived months or even years before we had to make that kind of decision if he hadn't tried to remove it, causing the cancer to spread.
If I knew how or where to report this man I would. This isn't the first horror story I've heard or known someone irl whose experienced it coming from this vets office. Sure, he's dirt cheap, but if ur dog literally ends up dying because of him, is it really worth saving the extra few hundred dollars?
Also apparently they have such a high rating on here because they keep reporting and having the negative reviews removed.

He basically killed my 11 month old cat. Who needs a kill shelter when you have good old "Dr"
Chester? Zero stars
