I have banked at the heritage bank for over 20 years. I've lived in Texas with my grand daughter for 12 years now. I've still had my bank there. They can't verify me since I don't have a Georgia ID and won't give me my money thats in my account unless I get verified in person or close my account. I want my money. Ive never had this problem. They cannot expect an 80 year old lady to fly to Georgia to be verified. It's 2023 and there's many ways of verifying but they choose not to help me. Discriminating against an elderly woman.

The staff apparently did not receive adequate training during the process of transferring to The First Bank. I’ve been handed off to multiple people who have told me they don’t know how the new systems work, cannot give predictions for how long processes will take, and the winning comment was when the loan officer looked at me and said, “you don’t bank here; who do you bank with? And why couldn’t they help you with a loan?” The answer is because I wanted a local bank—The Heritage Bank did a loan for me years ago, and the process was great. Not so much this time.

Transition to First Bank is a joke! Apparently the Heritage account numbers have NOT carried over as stated in the pre-merge literature. If you call the First Bank customer service line and request a human you get an automatic busy signal. Been with Heritage for 30....yes 30 years, I will find another bank.

If I could give negative stars I would. I went to the drive thru ATM to get money out of my account as I’ve done several times. The ATM took my card. When I called the Heritage Bank directly, I was told there was nothing they could do to get my card back. I have a suspicion that it’s because I don’t have an account with them, for a whole other reason which did also add to my negative feedback. However, that was several years ago.

Never had any problems with the tellers or bank. But the hours really are not the best. CLOSED on Saturday??? Banks I have been with before usually are open til noon on Saturday. It is crazy, ever since 2020 and covid, businesses shorten their hours and days off. Not the first business to do this and inconvenience patrons. But overall I have banked with them since 1996, when they were The Hinesville Bank and never had any problems.

Irresponsible leadership at this bank. Deposited a check I have cashed with them multiple times and they put the check on hold for 5 business days. Completely unprofessional, at the very least, you should clearly and obviously notify the customer before accepting the check if you are going to put their check or funds on hold!! Don't bank with them if you can avoid it.

Have been with the bank for 12 years, worked for them for 2 years. Recently had a check placed on hold (payroll check) I have worked for the company since 2014… you can see a deposit biweekly from the company… we were cut manual checks. They wouldn’t make any available. Left it on hold for a week now. I had twice as much in my account as the check. Ill be swapping banks!

Drive thru was absolutely terrible on my visit 10/21/2021. Usually I just drop my checks and all off in the drop box on the main building. However I just decided randomly to go through the drive thru to deposit 2 checks. Worst mistake ever. As I was questioned for everything I was worth by a male with glasses! I have been employed with this same business and have received checks for 1 1/2 years and they get deposited with no problems. After sitting for 35 minutes straight I asked for my checks back and put everything in the drop box. Checks went through before they closed. If you can please don't go through the drive thru as the staff on that end honestly have no clue as to what they're doing and they have a little bit of authority so you know they're gonna act like their someone. Honestly just a huge waste of time.

Been banking here 20 years, but now looking to make a change. Elderly mother recently experienced a debilitating health issue necessitating temporary ability to take care of her bills. Sister had a sealed, original Power of Attorney that specifically included monetary considerations but was not allowed to add her name to my mother's account.
