I opened up an account at United Community Bank in Hiawassee, GA. From the time I entered the door and needed help, was a pleasant experience.
I brought in coins to put in the sorting machine which I had never used before, and the young lady who waited on me was very helpful. While I was waiting on having my account opened, another lady who was a worker at the bank gave me a grocery list pad and a chip clip with the bank’s logo on them. Everyone was nice and it was a pleasant experience.

Yesterday, I visited this bank for a small matter. I have been a customer here for quite some time and was not surprised at the cordial greeting I received. Every time I have had occasion to visit this bank has been the same: employees are friendly and professional about every detail of the transaction. My experience at the drive thru, inside teller, by phone, and by mail has been outstanding. With pride I recommend this bank to friends and family. Doing business here is a pleasure.

I have banked here for many years and they have always been so helpful. However, I don't like that they eliminated customer-to-customer transfers without notifying customers. (If they did send an email about it, I didn't see it). I used that feature for monthly payments and suddenly its no longer an option. In it's place, they are using Zelle which is not a feasible substitute as many do not use Zelle. Nor do they want to link their debit cards to a third party vendor, including myself. While they suggested setting up an automatic transfer, which was a great idea, it won't work for variable payments. It's very disappointing.
