We can't thank them enough for their compassion and dedication!
When our pup, Duck, ate something harmful and started having seizures, we were in a state of panic. Despite having a full schedule, they made time for us without hesitation, which was a true lifesaver.
Dr. Taylor V’s passion for animals shines through in her excellent care. She treated Duck with expertise and kindness, and thanks to her, he's doing much better.
We are beyond grateful for their quick response and top-notch care!

Had to put the grandson's dog down after 11 years. It was not east ,but I could not have ask for more understanding staff and vet .They were not in a hurry and made sure everyone got to say goodbye and we're right there with us
I would recommend them to anyone looking for vet services. They get it.

Called them over two months ago and every time called for week and a half straight left multiple messages on there voice mail and it clearly says leave us a message and we will get back to in no time well never has in two months and now will be finding a different vet that actually answers there phones and talks to there customers

Edit: yet another very disappointing visit to this clinic. 4 pets under their care, and they're all going to be visiting a different vet in the future. I really wish zero Stars was an option.
Really love Dr. V but ever since moving into their new facility the quality of care and the cost for that care has been shameful. Look at reviews from the past year. SO MANY bad reviews. They abuse the voice mail system, leaving you in limbo for days waiting for a return call. You can NEVER get a person on the phone. When you do want care, they cut corners in favor of the quickest, easiest solution and guess at the diagnosis. They throw medication at the problem without being able to tell you what's actually wrong. The cost of basic services has doubled with fewer and fewer appointment slots available. If they're too busy for the customers then the customers can help them out by going someplace that actually cares. Having a loved pet in need of care can cause enough anxiety without the veterinarian's office compounding that by being rude, uncaring and poorly run/ managed.

I'm not from Hiawassee, just visiting the area, when my dog got struck by a car. I searched for an animal hospital in the Hiawassee area & this hospital was the first listed, so I called & explained my urgent situation.
Both the Vet. Tech & Cust. Service were cold & indifferent to my requests for medical assistance. Not being a regular client, they could not render any medical treatment for my poor, injured pet. I inquired about being a hospital, & the absence of compassion & understanding was jolting.
It is more than obvious the interest of this medical business is not in rendering medical attention to an injured animal, but to make as much money, taking the least amount of time, & careless about injured pets.

The staff was so nice. The lady vet examined my cat, did some tests & found out what was wrong with him & provided medicine to treat him. She was extremely nice & helpful.

This is a good place to go! The only problem I have with this place is the way they handled my dogs allergies. I wanted blood test to start with and still haven't got any! I would like to know exactly what is wrong with Blu so he can stop itching! They are a little expensive and I wish someone would answer the phone! I like the staff and trust their judgement, but still haven't found the root of the cause of his itching!

Had a problem with the new receptionist. She can’t communicate very well and failed to inform me I was 30 minutes early. Put me and my barking dog in an exam room for 45 minutes. I came out twice to find out what was the holdup and not a word about the appt. When I left, a tech came out and told me I was early so I didn’t wait 45 minutes but only 15. Really? I advise some customer service training. But I won’t be back.

Dr Vardeman is awesome! Ethical and does not try to oversell services. We have found this to be the most accommodating and reasonably priced vet in the area.

The management of the office operations is pathetic. We called a week ago to discuss need for a heartworm test (which should have been done in July when the dog was examined) and get a price for the annual cost of flea/tick and heartworm medicine. Someone answered the phone but said another person handles medications...so we were forwarded to her. Got a recording that that person would call back in 24 to 48 hours. NEVER GOT ANY CALL BACK. We are done with Hiawassee Animal Hospital and have made an appointment with a previous vet although they are an hour away but have a well-managed office. It is interesting that earlier review for Hiawassee also had problems with front-office management and the call-back routine, but obviously no action has been taken to correct the ridiculous policy of "well call back in 24-48 hours...or never".

Dr V we loved and he loved our pets, however whoever is in charge of Hiawassee animal hospital ie setting appointments, having a heart for animals, emergency treatment is absolutely positively a horrible heartless person with need to be in power personality. We have been coming here for 30 plus years and changing vets...
