Hoffbrau House River front motel is my budget friendly hotel when in Helen Ga.
Yes, it's shows a little age but price and convenience to town's activities is perfect. love the river a few yards from the deck!

I would not even give it a one star!!! This is probably the worst hotel that I have ever walked in!!! It is totally ridiculous!!! It is old and very dirty and is a wreck. Smelled bad and you could not even breathe in the halls or rooms.It set off my wife’s Asthma and I could not breathe with my sinus problems!! There were also two other people refusing to stay at the same time we were because of Bed Bugs!!! We did not stay and were promised a refund!!! Still has not happened!!! That was a lie and we have lost our money ( a great deal of money) on this ripoff. My suggestion to anyone looking to stay is to read the reviews and totally avoid!!! There are plenty of nice places to stay but this is absolutely not one of them!!!!

Rooms: Room was very clean and has a fridge and desk and microwave and nice large tv
Nearby activities: You are right on the edge of Helen with perfect access to all that Helen has to offer. not to mention a great restaurant right here hofbrau restaurant with authentic German food!
Safety: Very safe! Very quiet. You're tu kex away in a nice cozy room looking at the Chattahoochee.
Walkability: You can walk from one end of Helen to the other very easily!
Food & drinks: They have An ice machine, vending and of course there is a restaurant right here next door and atleast 10 within a 5 minute walk.
Noteworthy details: The view of the Chattahoochee is beautiful! There are grills outside that you can enjoy a nice grilled burger or steak. They have breakfast in the morning until 10:30. The best part is the people who work here. Stephanie has been amazing and so has everyone here. You get a good family vibe when you're here, will definitely make this my go to place anytime I'm in town! Thanks y'all!!

Clean the room. The towels still had hair from other visitors. Then we wiped down the headboard and the rag came back brown. The ceiling has water stains and random holes in it. The room has obviously been smoked in for years. The shower is stained from years of neglect and the floors will make your feet dirty walking around. I could not recommend enough to never stay here. The pictures look nothing like online. It's a scam.

Staff was very nice and very accommodating. Motel is on the river you can just walk down to it and you can walk to town. Rates are cheaper than most motels in Helen. Room was clean. No problems. We will definitely stay here again.

The AC unit was full of mold and caused the entire room to smell. Comforter had several stains, light and fan switches in bathroom do not work, bathroom was also infested with ants.

The hotel does have an excellent location but everything is super dirty, it seems disrespectful to me, I paid for the room with a view of the river and they gave me the one that wasn't it, the stained sheets were also dirty, and for the price I paid very badly everything, with a musty smell, the bathroom dirty, in short, chaos

Please DO NOT make the same mistake that I made my booking with this hotel. The pictures are NOT updated and the hotel is greatly ran down and unmaintained. I arrived two and half hours after my initial check-in time to find my room not ready due to it not being cleaned. The hotel had bird feces and mold growing in the carpet, spider webs and filth on the windows, cigarette butts scattered on the floor in the hallways leading up to the rooms, nothing was maintained or cleaned. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. The two staff members working when we arrived were nice but refused to admit anything wrong with the property. We did not stay and they WOULD NOT REFUND any of our money. We also book on the 4th of July weekend so the rates were higher than normal.

Room was right on the river. The deck was the best thing about the hotel. The bathroom was full of mold. Cheap price but what a dump,! Stephanie in the office was great
She went out of her way to get us in a room on the river. Not her fault the room was a dump. TV ran on streaming wifi. That glitch at least once a minute. It's a real dump

Please save your money and saty somewhere else for the same price or $20 more. From the floor being filthy, to the bed not having fresh sheets, we slept on our blankets. Then the toilet didn't flush. We were do exhausted we went to sleep. Woke up the next morning, and my husband nor I could get the shower to work, that with the mold I had to go without. Went to make coffee, and there was a coffee pot but no glass carafe to brew or filter. I go to the office, and I guess their continental breakfast is a pack of oatmeal and coffee in lobby lol. I walk past and the lady who works there is smoking on the front porch with 2 other people, no one ever spoke. At this point, there was no point in even saying anything.
It was literally 11 02 am and we were all packed sitting on the bed ready to leave and the same lady has the nerve to come by and say it's checkout time. Like I paid 85 dollars for no running water and a dirty room. Seriously. Please don't waste your money here. They don't care about you or your family.

Best place I've stayed.. don't want to tell anyone about here so I can keep it to myself. Staff amazing waterfront rooms awesome.came for 1 day here it is 3 days I'm still here.... best hidden gem in helen!

Booked two rooms for a family vacation and upon arrival one room hadn't even been cleaned. The room that was "clean" smelled very musty, the toilets hadn't even been flushed, the vents were covered in black dust and a huge spider web was right above the door when you walk in. I refused to stay here and we asked to be refunded. The staff was understanding and offered a refund without a fuss which is why I gave them 3 stars. The rooms alone don't deserve any stars.

People please don’t let the pictures fool you. The rooms are nasty they do not change the sheets after each person. We watched housekeeping after people left and they were just making up the beds. The bathrooms were so dirty and the floor my socks were black. When we first got there a lady was sent to her room and she return and said people were in her bed. Well we went to our room well we thought and there was pizza and the bed was made down . We return to the front desk and told the lady and she blamed house keeping . We were assigned another room and it was nasty. You could see outside by the air condition where the wood had split. Also we had a visitor that was living in the air vent. We took pictures and recorded the animal snoring in the vent. Don’t waste your time or money.
Rooms: Rooms were nasty, old, and out dated. It is not what you see in the pictures. It is worst!! Don’t waste your money. They don’t wash the linens. Or clean the rooms !
