If it's too complicated for you to do it yourself in an hour or two, it's too complicated for even "Senior" H&R Block tax pros. Go somewhere else. I tried using a professional to make my life easier - it just wasted my time and caused frustration.I signed up for virtual tax prep by a "professional", and uploaded all my relevant documents. They didn't bother looking at them all. I asked via message and via phone call if everything was in order, if they needed any further documentation or anything - I was told no, it's all in order. I then asked a question via message and received no response.At my appointment:* The office wasn't even open until ~5 minutes after my appointment time. And then I had to fill out a form for a pre-arranged appointment? More delays.* The tax pro hadn't even looked at all my documents, specifically the ones I asked questions about and they never responded to.* The tax pro did not know how to use a spreadsheet. I had to walk them through how to open a document in a spreadsheet, and how the relevant information is used.When the pro wanted to schedule yet another appointment so they have time to do the work I asked them to do in the first place, that was it for me. I tried to save myself some hassle and time by having a pro do my taxes, but ended up wasting my time.I shouldn't have to tell a "senior" professional how to do their job, and then PAY THEM for the privilege.
