My husband gave me a $100 gift certificate to use at New Beginnings. I called to make an appointment and left my name, number, and requested a call back to schedule a polish change with Stefani. After waiting several days with no call back I decided to go into the salon and book the appointment in person. It did not surprise that no one called me back as I have dealt with New Beginnings many times and have learned it sometimes takes multiple calls to get a response. Going in personally seemed a better, and less frustrating option and it worked. I made an appointment with Stefani for 3 p.m. on November 17. So, on the appointed day my husband and I arrived at the salon at 2:48 and parked directly in front of the door. As we parked we could see Stefani on the other side of the door. As we watched she turned off the lights, set the alarm, and locked the door from the outside. As she came outside and started to walk towards the parking on the right side of the building. I exited our vehicle and called her name. When she turned around I asked if she remembered I had an appointment at 3. She seemed surprised to see me and then said she did remember and she was just going to “put some things in her car”, and that she would be right back. My husband and I stepped up to the door and waited. We could see the salon was completely dark and the security system was beeping like they do when just set and they’re counting down the time you have to exit the building. Stefani returned and unlocked the door, turned off the security system and turned on the lights. It was obvious that she was trying to leave when we arrived and had we been a few minutes later she would have been gone. I proceeded to get the scheduled polish change and when I went to check out she had to turn on the computer that she had shut down before we arrived. The total came to $30 which seems high but it may the correct amount. This leaves a $70 balance on my gift certificate which I really don’t wish to use at New Beginnings. I am used to the scheduling issues but I do not feel like doing business with a salon where the technician was trying to skip out on my appointment and then lied to me when she was caught. No one shuts down the computer, turns off the lights, and arms the security system just to go and “put something in her car.” This is unacceptable and my only interest at this point is a refund of the balance on the gift certificate.

New Beginnings was everything I thought it would be! Cierra Hooks did an amazing job with myself and my mom. I would give more stars if I could and would definitely recommend them to anyone! Thank you Cierra and we will definitely use you going forward.Services: Polish removal

Cierra is a new nail tech at New Beginnings and I'm so happy I got her! She did exactly what I asked for: natural looking nails with dip powder and regular polish on my toes. I definitely recommend calling for an appointment. Cierra takes her time and makes sure everything is perfect. She is very gentle and relaxing. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend Cierra.

New to the area so I drive over for a mani/pedi. The place looks closed. Sign on the door said by appointment only, so I called. Message says no new clients, no appointments available for the rest of the year and dont leave a message asking. It would have been nice if the website is updated with this information, it would save a lot of people time by knowing not to bother with this place.

I have tried many times to be a patron but they are always booked. I only come to this area 3-4 times per year and have never been successful in obtaining an appt although I try each time. Today when I called I was told they are booked through the end of February. I’m only in town for a few weeks so that obviously wont work. I give up.

I really can’t recommend anything because I’ve never been able to keep an appointment. My first appointment which I made in person was canceled before I even got home. My second appointment which I made over the phone for 2 PM was A no-show for the shop. The door was locked. No one appeared to be in the shop. I have heard so many good things about the shop and I have wanted to start going there but I don’t know how to get appointment and actually have a service

New Beginnings in the ONLY nail salon I will patron in the Lake Area. The staff is friendly, professional, ALL individually licensed, and the facility is clean, modern, and comfortable. All the ladies speak fluent English, are meticulous in their duties, and never fail to provide top quality services. I look forward to my appointments and enjoy the results for weeks! I would recommend New Beginnings over any nail salon because of everything listed above...and the owner? She’s a classy, smart, and professional woman who works hard daily to make sure every customer who comes through the door feels welcome, like a visit with your best girlfriend. After all, being pampered is part of her business & it shows.

Oh please tell me by the ignorant woman who answered the phone and the lack of professionalism exhibited that this place is on its way out. Why would anyone ever grace this place when they could visit Le Nails, for instance? Or any other salon for that matter? Business owners who don’t know how to make money and are not creative enough to find a way and “don’t care to do that” deserve to be shut down. Don’t forget the people you are serving.
