“I usually enjoy shopping at Dollar General. But the other day when I was shopping for a DoorDash customer at the Gillsville location, the cashier was very rude to me. I couldn't get a good signal on my phone and I was having trouble using the red card to pay for the item, which was one jug of tea. The female cashier had her daughter with her and was scolding her. Then she actually had the nerve to raise her voice to me, a customer. I tried to be nice, although I wanted to tell her off. This encounter has been bothering me ever since. I don't usually report things, but I feel this needs to be addressed. Aside from this very unpleasant experience, I think Dollar General is great and I enjoy shopping for good deals there.”

“Definitely worth the trip if you're in north GA or passing through. Honey, soup starters, corn & flax meal, meat section, jellies, pickles, fruitcakes, the freshest spearmint leaves we've ever eaten. Mouthwatering variety of sandwiches prepared on site using homemade bread.”

“This store has been opened longer than I have been alive. It's changed owners a few times over the year's. But it still has great people who work there and that are willing to go above and beyond to help you.”

“It looks like the DG has done some remolding. They have installed Triple the Amount of Freezer/Chilled Coolers. They have also added Fresh Produce. They have totally revamped the Entire store. Once it's finished, it will be fantastic.”

“Love this store! Produce is always fresh, meat selection is extensive, fresh and cut to your thickness if desired. The store is always clean and neat and the staff is very nice and helpful. Prices are reasonable. It’s a locally owned market, so I don’t always find everything I need, but I love shopping there due to the closeness to my home and the friendliness of the staff.”

“I grew up going to the store with my friends and peers. I enjoy the 5 minute walk to the store. I would give a five star but the things in the story are really pricey.”

“I was past E and pulled off the interstate to the Love's gas station to find out they were completely out of gas. Thank goodness I had enough to make it here! They had plenty of gas and the nostalgia of the old pumps made me smile. The young gentleman inside was extremely kind and welcoming. Next time I am in the area, I will most definitely stop by! :)”

“My husband and I were house/dog sitting for friends and we were both a little under the weather so I didn't want to have to drive to Cornelia or Gainesville for dinner. I stopped in at Lula Grocery to see if they had ground beef for a quick dinner fix. I was surprised that this little gem also had fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions & potatoes. They also had a little grill in the back that made fresh take out, chicken and Hunt's Brothers Pizza. I couldn't pass it up so I got a pizza to go as well. The workers were all very friendly and helpful. I was quite impressed. I would definitely recommend it. The pizza was hot and tasty. Thank you!”

“Scott and Amanda are the best! Great customer service. Scott is always friendly and helpful every time in in. I live near by so I'm in at least weekly. This location sometimes is out of stock of stuff, but it usually comes back in.”

“Staff is friendly and helpful! I love this store because it’s close to my house and they usually have anything I need. Store is clean but I can tell the staff is doing the job of at least two people. They could use some help! I’m in there all the time. Cashier shouldn’t have to work all over the store! Let cashier do her job! Hire some stock boys!”

“This store has undergone a complete restocking of sort and is under new management I do believe. When we first moved to Homer this store was always almost a safety hazard to be inside. The roll carts in the aisles were bad and the store would never have much on the shelves. In the last few weeks this store has made drastic improvements to all the above issues and is again like any of the other dozen locations within the area. The store noticed the problem and corrected it and for that deserves a second chance by anyone that's had a bad experience in the past.”

“OK this is only my second review ever. The last review I did was several years ago. This place deserves a review. And yes, it's in a gas station. Excuse the pictures as they are not the best and does not do the food justice. This yelp review and food picture as an after thought. My husband was like "hey babe, you want the best chicken biscuit ever? NO! I proclaimed because I'm not a huge breakfast person much less a chicken biscuit I can get from Chick-fil-A or even Bojangles. He goes on and on about how one of his buddies introduce him to it and blah blah blah. I said fine. Just get me one. He walked into the car with two. One chicken and one steak wrap in aluminum foil. Nothing fancy, nothing amazing. I looked at it to examine the "best chicken biscuit". Okay, I thought...homemade biscuits. It's not overly flaky. It's not overly buttery. When I do eat a biscuit, I like it soft pillowy and flaky dripping in butter. Despite all this, I'm still impressed at the biscuit. I still haven't taken my first bite. I'm still examining it. The country fried steak was huge. The fried chicken breast was crunchy and fresh. I finally decided to take a bite. I felt the sun beamed on my face. I was like WOW! I did not want to utter these words to my husband out of all people, but here goes....YOU'RE RIGHT! It was so good, I had to write a short story and Yelp about it. Hence the half eaten pictures.”
