I went in to try and purchase my first handgun. It did not go well. I knew that to feel more comfortable with my purchase, I wanted to get a handgun with a safety. I told the guy at the counter what I wanted on a hand gun, including the safety, and he looked very annoyed. He started to show me one, and I asked where the safety was. The guy raised his voice and said, " YOUR FINGER IS YOUR SAFETY." I will never buy anything from here because of this experience. I recommend going a little down the road to the georgia Gun Store.

I usually drop by when I can to look at their selection. They always have a good amount of firearms on the wall and in the display. This day however was not as pleasant due to one of the employees at the gun counter. I was looking for my first 9mm pistol and Michael was the one showing me the firearms. He treated me like I was stupid and that I should of have "many guns before I walked in". I tried to look past this but he kept talking down to me and treating me like I didn't belong. I walked away and looked in the ammo isle and honestly trying to look past what just happen. Once I saw him leave the gun counter I went back over and another gentleman helped me out. Unfortunately I won't be back cause of the way I was treated.

I went here looking to pickup a new G19 Gen 5 MOS, unfortunately it wasn't a model they had in stock so they took my number and said they'd reach out to me when their distributor was able to send it to them. This repeated twice before the third time I went in and I spoke to the same guy yet again who took my number for a 3rd time and said they'd be able to have it in within the week. 5 days later I went to Georgia Gun Store right across the street and they took care of me within the day after taking the time to check for the model I was looking for and letting me know they had it. I've gone in here 1 or 2 other times for ammo, don't, the Everyday carry ammo they sell is almost 3-5$ less expensive a box any and everywhere else even academy sports. Don't get me wrong, if you are the kind of person who needs specialized ammo or reloads your own ammo they have the selection you're looking for 100%, but don't expect a lot of help getting what you need if your not a regular or don't know them enough to give you the time of day. The firearm selection is kind of all over and if your looking for a handgun that isn't painted pink or Red white and blue then probably go somewhere else. Great for hunters and the regulars who shop there, even have some bow stuff unlike a lot of other places around Gainesville but you just can't really get past the lack of care for new customers and the lack of effort to even make you want to come back. Since I don't reload and I'm not a bow hunter I definitely won't be going back here.

Back in around August I went in to buy a Glock 47. Walked in a nobody asked if I needed any help. Finally the Guy finished up with his customer and I approached. The Employee then said they would have to order one so the Guy got my number and a few weeks went by and never heard anything. I called and he said he would remind Judge to order one. It is now January and I have yet to hear anything. I ended up at Bullseye where I did purchase one. I will never go back in Outdoor Depot.

As with most gun stores that have guns piled on top of guns, the reason is almost always pricing. They are roughly 30-40% higher on all guns and ammo than any other store in the tri-county area. They will not bargain what so ever, a take it or leave it kind of atmosphere. I honestly do not understand how they stay open, I would venture to guess the only reason is the best and most professional bow tech in the state of Ga works here. Other than that the place is an absolute joke
