I don't trust ANY speed shop, but these guys. Justin is a true friend. He will help you and make sure your stuff is taken care of. Mr. Hughes is a Master! He is the ghost in the machine. These guys know hot rodding and run a class A machine shop.Atlanta Speed Shop has built engines for me, fixed supercharger systems, and diagnosed many issues for me over the years. I treasure my relationship with this team and would recommend anyone I know to this shop. Shout-out to Brandon and Co-Co (Cody). What a group of guys!

Very horrible. They've had my motor for a year now and all I came in for was cam bearings and honing and still no word of when it will be done ? I've spoken to the company several times be and they were either there out racing or they wouldn't have a tech available to do the job

? took engine for rebuild Justin,Julius,Brandon met me looked over parts made suggestions as to the direction project should go…they where very courteous and knowledgeable…suggested I address some weak links from the first build which I knew existed.. I need to upgrade for reliability… timeline they gave me more than exceptable… guys were great and I expect their work will be also… looking forward to getting my engine build back in a more reliable package..they obviously got my respect when they pointed out my weak links I already knew existed… and as we all know go fast ain’t cheap…neither is quality… I’m sure my little street motor is in good hands… will update after install but my initial experience was awesome….Service: Motor building

I called Atlanta Speed Shop to see if they could do the machine work on my '73 MGB engine and I spoke to Julius, the owner, who seemed polite and knowledgeable, and said he had experience with MGBs. I asked if they could also assemble the pistons and bearings into the block, and Julius said they certainly could, and estimated the assembly labor to be around $400. Perfect. I dropped off the engine and cylinder head along with all the parts that I had purchased myself. Their workspace was bright, clean, and looked organized. Julius gave me a rough estimate of the cost, saying the total would be around $2,000 (including the fee to service the head and assemble the short-block). He estimated the job would take at least a few weeks. We both understood that the price and timing could change based on what they might find as they went. I authorized whatever additional work was needed. After 9 weeks the block and head were ready and the bill was $3,400. It took a little longer than I wanted and cost a bit more than I was hoping, but as long as the job was done right I was happy - until I got home and got the block un-bagged and was shocked to find a huge gouge in the surface of the deck. I called Julius to ask what happened and he said the tech that did the resurfacing dropped the block and caused a gouge that was too deep to be milled off, and that he had "forgotten to tell me about it". Julius admitted that if the gouge were any nearer to the cylinder it would have rendered the block unusable, but he was "pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem". I pointed out that he had not forgotten to add the $150 resurfacing charge to the bill though, and Julius stated that even though the resurfacing had damaged the block, "they did resurface the block" but he eventually agreed to refund me the $150 for the botched resurfacing and then he begrudgingly offered me an additional $50 off "for my trouble" and he'd mail me a check for the $200. After a few weeks with no check from them, I wrote it off to a lesson learned. By that time I had re-assembled the rest of the engine and got it into the vehicle and it was running perfectly. After a few trips around the neighborhood to ensure there were no leaks or issues, I took it out to put a few miles on it and begin the break-in procedure. The engine was running perfectly, idling smoothly, no leaks, oil pressure and temperature readings were good - for almost 8 miles. Then the engine blew out a core plug, resulting in an instant and total loss of all coolant. By the time I got out of the travel lanes and safely to the side of the road, the damage had been done. The core plug(s) had been installed improperly and one had failed, and the instant coolant loss and subsequent temperature spike had blown the head gasket and damaged the head. When I called Julius to demand an answer, and to remind him that I had not even received the $200 refund, Julius said that he had "forgotten" about sending the check and said, "The core plugs in an MBG are tricky, which is why we didn't charge you to install them" (???). His idea of a warranty (and customer service) was another promise to send me the $200 refund, and that he'd "throw in a set of core plugs" that he had laying around (retail value $2.99). So after 9 weeks and $3,400 (and another $2,000 in parts) I'm back where I started. I have a damaged block, a blown head gasket, a damaged head, and I need to pull the engine back out to re-do the improperly installed core plugs. When I finally received the refund check (and the core plugs) Julius basically admitted that they blew it because he included a handwritten note that read "by cashing this $200 check I was agreeing to not communicate with anyone about this". I mailed the check back to him. I can't say that Atlanta Speed Shop is the worst machine shop in the world, but I can say that they're the worst machine shop I've ever dealt with. Your mileage may vary, but after a $3,400 rebuild by At

As a business owner I leave very few reviews online as I know the impact they can have. Juluis and Justin at Atlanta Speed Shop went above and beyond for me with my 67 F100- they will do whatever it takes to get the project done right and do right by you. They finished through a build that the first shop I used majorly dropped the ball on and costed me over 6 figures. They were honest, extremely thorough and went out of their way to help fix another shops mistakes and get my truck done right. My truck will be going here for future work. For anyone who complains that they have a wait list- it is worth the wait!Services: Motor building

Th staff seems pretty cool. I left my car here for about a year and absolutely nothing was done. I’m still trying to figure out what they did. The whole point of me dropping car was to get it running and that was not accomplished. When I left one of the workers told me if I needed engine work to come back, I don’t know if he was joking because I came to them to get the engine running. I don’t even think my car was moved the whole time. I just wanted to pay and leave. If you do decide to go here please check on car physically every couple of days. My car sat in same spot it was left and still water was in the trunk . I had high hopes. Was let down.Service: Engine repair

Called to request a quote for a engine rebuild. Person on the phone asks me to take pictures of the truck and text it to them. So I did, 3 weeks go by and I heard nothing about it. I text again to ask what's going on and they ask who I am they had lost their phone. Understandable enough. So I text them the pictures again. Two more weeks go by without a single word. So I text and ask for an update. I am then informed that they only do rebuilds (what I'm wanting) not maintenance. So I inform them that I am wanting a full rebuild. They come up with some random excuse that after they rebuild it the fuel system may not work correctly. So what I'm telling everyone with this is to not waste your time. Find someone else, I set aside 50k for the rebuild of this truck and they obviously do not want my money so, they probably don't want yours either.*Response to Owner*I didn't want general maintenance, as said above I wanted a full rebuild. I had heard you were the best in my area and you are only 10 mins from my house. I am having the truck fully restored to brand new specifications all the way around. The fact that you assume I am poor and only want maintenance is absolutely infuriating. I assure you, someone else is going to enjoy the 60k I have now saved up for the restoration.
