Wilkes is the only place I shop at for meat and they also have lots more to offer, most of the veggies you would like are available. These guys are the an excellent example of the kindness and care you receive from a small business. Their steaks are also incomparable to the grocery store equivalent, lots and lots of reason to stop by!!

Was our first time going to this place since it was previously Block 'N Blade. We took a look around and noticed an immediate bad smell! Not typical of the former meat market that had been there for years. Selection was okay, but prices were high. (Yes, I know inflation plays a big part these days, but still seemed higher). Clerk at the counter was just ok, not overly friendly and seemed impatient that we needed some time to make our selections. (Guess he's used to everyone knowing exactly what they want all the time?) I asked a very basic question about how long their brunswick stew would keep safely refrigerated... well, the guy seemed almost arrogant about it, boasted and stated, "It won't last that long. You'll eat it in one sitting, maybe two." That really didn't answer my question so I asked again and clarified that we hadn't planned on eating it right away. He then answered bluntly. (which, btw, after we did try it, all you could taste was the Overpowering vinegar! Very unappetizing, but we managed to force it down and eat it anyway as we had paid enough for it already). We made our meat selections and headed to the checkout register. Well, here's where the final disappointment came. We paid and left, but as we got in our car to leave, I decided to check our receipt. It turns out that they charge the customer TWO DIFFERENT prices!? A Cash price and a Credit card price. Well, this was completely unexpected as there were NO SIGNS that we found at all that displayed these two different prices-- either at the meat counters where only ONE price for each type of meat was shown (NO DIFFERENT, second CARD PRICE was LISTED BTW) nor at the cash register. We didn't bother to go back in to complain because we figured it would do no good anyway. But I just think it is very deceptive, misleading and not transparent to customers. If you are going to charge two different prices, that's fine, but at least be totally honest and transparent about it and display them-- just like gas stations do. That way we all know what to expect. Not everyone prefers to pay cash or even carries cash with them! Based on this experience, we will most likely Not be back. I'm not in the habit of knowingly giving business to non-transparent companies. I cannot recommend this business to others. So customers-- Be aware.
I have attached the receipt and the top of the brunswick stew lid to show the advertised price on the sticker versus what we were actually charged for reference.

Went for beef tenderloin, which was fantastic, but picked up one of their smoked pork butts... melt in your mouth goodness!!! Fabulous flavor and perfectly cooked. I just ordered another one for the 4th of July.

This place is great! My husband always brings home steaks from here and burgers and meat quality is always great! The premade sides are good as well. The customer service I experienced today is what really wowed me though!

I have been loyal to Wilkes for as long as I can remember. After moving near Braselton, I couldn't have been more excited when they opened up here. At first, they were friendly, and I enjoyed shopping at the new location but recently everyone that works there has a poor attitude towards customers. It has happened the last three visits. The product is always great, but it is not worth the hassle of dealing with poor quality customer service. It truly pains me to write this, but I feel the need let Wilkes know about my last three experiences. You want to chalk it up to somebody having a bad day, but three times in a row? Nope. This needs to be fixed!

Buyer beware! The prices at Wilkes are just criminal. I am all for fair market value and business prerogative, but everything is grossly inflated at Wilkes. Just look at the "packages". For $109 you get $40 worth of product you can find at Sam's Club. And yes, the grades of prime, choice, or select are the same as every other place. Stop getting ripped off by these people.

So disappointed in Wilkes today. I buy chicken breasts there(as well as many cuts is beef, pork, etc). They have switched to whole chicken breasts that are HUGE. The half breast is HUGE.. probably 1 lb a piece for half a chicken breast. This is what I was trying to get away from at Publix…huge, tough chicken breasts. $40.00 for for 5 chicken breasts. While I love other meats I buy there, they do not cut to order short ribs and brisket for smaller orders They need to consider that they are surrounded by 55+ neighborhoods that need smaller portions of meat.

5 Stars most def!! Great products, guidance and service! Even with the broken English of an Employee UGA Fan that that nosed his way into the conversation with me and the cashier. Typical UGA fan beating up on Tech. I wont stand for it. I'm sure he is a fine young man, great employee and probably a family member. The best NY Strips ever!!
