We normally take our pets to another vet, but they were not open on the day we really needed to take our dog. CMAH seemed like a good choice, but NEVER AGAIN. Rude service, very overpriced (tried to push all kinds of needless tests on us) and the doctor in charge was just so arrogant.

I have been a client of Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital for 7+ years and highly recommend this practice. I greatly appreciate that they provide and estimate for services at the beginning of the visit so that I have an opportunity to ask or additional things or reschedule some services. Dr. Delong and his staff have always been respectful of both me and my pets. Eddie and Sprocket are always greeted enthusiastically and the staff is friendly.

Brought my Kitten in once before earlier this month for annual check up, along with required vaccines, and was advised about a Feline leukemia test and shot, to which I declined. I was told this was optional at the first vist. Due to the cost of the test and vaccine, I decided to do a some research to educate myself prior to making the decision. I came back for follow up boosters and to try to go ahead and schedule spay. The tech told me the vet refused to schedule spay appointment unless I was to go ahead a do the test and vaccine for the Feline Leukemia. When I asked the tech why, the tech couldn't tell me the reasoning behind it, and just stated it was just thier policy. I get it, everyone has thier own policies, but usually there a explaination behind it. Feline Leukemia affects about 3% of the feline population and is very rare for a 1 cat indoor cat household to be exposed, unless the cat gets out all the time. Since I've had my kitten, she has not once gotten lose. I understand there is still a possibility the cat could at some point get out, but to refuse a spay is just wild to me. I've spent nearly $500 this month alone on just the basic stuff nessicary and they wanted me to spend a additional $150 on another test and vaccine that was supposedly optional. If you're going to make it requirement, be up front about it, not wait until after the fact.

Great experience from first call to Brianna who got us worked in the same day, to Savannah who provided great service when we got there and finally Dr. Hadaway who was very thorough, considered my pup's existing conditions and suggested a treatment that made great sense! Couldn't have asked for a better experience! And the prices were certainly reasonable!

Today was our first visit to Chestnut Mountain Animal Hospital and it was absolutely wonderful. From scheduling the appointment over the phone to check in to the examination we were treated so kindly. This is the first vet we have gone to where the doctor has actually came and spoke with me face to face and thoroughly explained the course of action and reasoning behind it.
Dr. Hadaway was an absolute pleasure. She explained everything to a T, answered all my questions thoroughly, and truly listened to my concerns about my pup and addressed them. Most vets will simply brush off your concerns, overcharge, and beat around the bush. None of this occurs at Chestnut Mountain. The vet tech and doctor were extremely kind, supportive, and straight forward. There was no beating around the bush. They worked with me on the cost of our visit and medication prescriptions. Very affordable care!! It is something so appreciated in difficult financial times. They never once made me feel bad or not worthy as a fur mama as I could not afford all the recommended treatment for my pup. Instead they gave us different options and adjusted the price every way that they could. That meant the world to me.
They were so sweet and patient with my anxious girl. It’s not the easiest task to work with an anxious pup but they did a terrific job. I couldn’t be happier with how they treated her.
Wonderful doctor, terrific vet tech, and friendly receptionists.
Thank you Chestnut Mountain for taking care of us. We will most definitely continue care with this lovely establishment.
