To charge someone to cash a check that is drawn on their bank should be criminal. They wanted to charge $8 to cash a check that was written to me and drawn on this specific branch. I have never had another bank charge. And his personality was one of arrogance. I will never do business with this bank nor will my business.

Someone wrote my friend a bad check. Truist treated her like she was the criminal. Held her money hostage and closed her account without talking to her. They also red flagged her account so she can’t open an account with any other banks. Be ware of this bank! My friend is a hardworking medical professional and mother who has had to greatly suffer due to bad business on the bank’s part.

Since the change to Truist things have not been the same. The employees are kind and attentive, but are restricted by their employer.

As one other reviewer mentioned, this is not the Truist location to go to for customer service. I went in to get a simple Notary today on a US Government Treasury Dept. form which clearly stated Notary accepted. The clerk at the counter not only looked at me (a longtime SunTrust customer) with contempt for bothering her, but she refused to Notarize the form as it "didn't look right". Maybe I should write The Secretary of the Treasury and tell him his Government issued forms are inadequate for bank clerks?

Very fast and friendly, I would refer this bank to family and friends.

It's not a bank you go to if you are in any kind of hurry. The very kind staff and attentive staff are usually bogged down with paperwork and procedure. Often the clerks are busy with customers over the phone and unable to assist with the front counter. There is no "running in" or quick trips through the drive thru as there are no dedicated employees in any position. Aside from the always available branch manager and 2 or 3 overtasked tellers there are just a lot of closed doors and long waits for even the simplest of transactions.

When it was BBT it was a great bank. Now everything is terrible. Poor customer service. Maybe the people in the actual office here are good the Truist part is NoT!

I have been banking with this bank for years. Great friendly tellers, Bert was able to help us redeem rewards from our credit card. I have always had a good experience with everyone at the East Ellijay Branch.

This Bank has the best fraud protection ever, 1 month ago I went to the doctor and someone tried to get into my bank account they shut them out. Yesterday I had an appointment then that afternoon someone tried to use my husband's debit card. Same thing they refused the use. We both are very grateful since we are both 65 and over. The age group that are most targeted. This Bank is really on top of the game of TAKING CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMER. THANK YOU AGAIN BB&T.

I have nothing but the highest marks for Ellijay BB&T. Mike never failed to come out of his office and greet me and any of my family members. He was the absolute best. He was a go to person. Since he is gone and the COVID mess everything has changed.I have needed assistance only a couple times, but Bert has stepped up and in my opinion is carrying on just fine. You, that seemed so dis-satisfied should try some big city banks and you will see how much they care for you.

The worst experience I have ever encountered in banks, I have had with BBT. The ATM has problems all the time and the most ridiculous thing I have seen is that when I deposit my OWN cash, it can take up to 3 days to clear. On one occasion I deposited a check and the bank held my check because they weren't sure it was real and the bank charged me a fee of $ 108 for the stupidity they committed themselves.I definitely need another bank branch immediately!

You can ignore the comments below this. Bert Long is now the branch leader at this location. You can expect proper customer service now that he is in charge. We will miss you in Dahlonega Bert!

If you check with consumer affairs you will find that this bank; on a national level, makes its money by rearranging credits, and debits in its system in a way that will result in multiple overdraft fees before a charge even finishes posting to your account. BB&T has multiple complaints filed with them through the BBB as well. If the bank cannot rearrange credits, and debits in a way that will overdraft your account, then they will hold your money; also resulting in a overdraft fee. This locations ATM has been has been CLOSED for over a month, and faulty for several months before this. This locations ATM also has taken physical money from me, and "eaten" it, as to which I was forced to go through a process with BB&T to get my money back while they held my funds, and "overdrafted" my account to which there "wasn't enough money" to which the "system can't be overridden" even though the ATM is the reason I didn't have enough money in the first place.
