I took my dog in due to a swollen knot that was oozing pus and blood. The vet tech and staff were nice and introduced themselves. I informed them that my dog needed a muzzle and was given one. When Dr. Roberson walked in, I assumed he was another vet tech since he didn't introduce himself or greet me. When I figured out who he was and showed him the area from about 5 feet away he said 'that's a hot spot'. I had to tell him it wasn't and what the problem was. My dog was growling and he was obviously afraid of her, even though she had a muzzle on. She is a 40# Standard Poodle, not a ferocious beast. He never touched her. He prescribed antibiotics, twice a day for 10 days. He never gave me any other instructions. I had to ask how to care for the area. I had zero confidence in him and I won't visit him again. This unpleasant experience cost $150. I should have read the reviews.

unfortunately now a days, docs are unable to diagnose without the guidance of any laboratory or imaging results. they go to school for so many years yet they depend of expensive lab results to guide any treatment plan. Dr. David Roberson saw my puppy for 2 minutes, ordered labs and left. he was unable to use symptoms or physical exam findings to treat my dog. which at the end was giving fluids and treating nausea with medication. its sad that their plan is influenced about how much money they can make of you. secretary staff was incredible, got me in fast and did not wait for the appointment. vet techs were nice and helpful as well. unfortunately when the head of the office, such as a the vet isn't a good provider then i cant recommend this vet to anyone! hopefully the office can get some better vets.

My 10 yr old toy poodle was having really runny stools and vomiting bile. Of course it was a Saturday and VCA got her in and evaluated. Prices very reasonable. Staff and Doctor very accommodating and efficient. They also followed up the next Monday to confirm her progress. When I go to the vet up here in North Georgia I will always use VCA.

Only local veterinarian service that trims our birds beak and nails. They do a great job.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for seeing my beloved pup after he was attacked by another dog on New Years Eve. Seeing him quickly will make a big difference in his risk of infection and pain. Thorough in finding the many puncture wounds, and the pain meds and antibiotics are helping him heal. Very grateful they took him on a holiday when most other vets were closed. Very nice staff, to my family and my dog, when we were scared and upset.

Highly recommend VCA Appalachian Animal Hospitality. I have been taking my dogs to them since we moved to Ellijay GA in 2018. I wouldn’t use another VET.

I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE!!! If you want your babies in caring and knowledgeable hands this is NOT the place for you! Find out why below...Being new to the area I needed to find a new vet... well before I could get my dogs set up at this office one of my pups got sick... possibly poisoned... I was told they don't have any openings but to go to the Jasper location 40 minutes away! Eventually the understanding receptionist to ask the doc to see if they could fit me in. Of course the doc said yes, but, that'll be the cost of the visit plus all the vet can do is call poison control!?!?! I was shocked!... a vet that has to call poison control in order to know how to take care of my baby... nope, not happening. I can do that just the same and I didn't even go to school to know that.I'm furious and could go on for ever about how much I dislike a place I've never been, this office. Needless to say, we took our baby elsewhere and he is now being treated and on the mend... no thanks to this office.

Always very professional and personable. We have nothing but strays that have wondered up and VCA never lets us down when it comes to treatment of these new family members.

Staff was caring, one vet I experienced was good with my furbaby. I had transferred records for all 3 of my furbabies and unfortunately I experienced multiple incidents of total miscommunication. Techs always giving shots, boosters, etc. The vets I have switched to at Oconee Animal Hospital always treat my furbabies then discuss entire visit and suggestions. To much of negative feelings at VCA, but everyone is different. Thank you anyway for your efforts and continued good luck with all of the pets entrusted to you. We just won't be there.

This place might be really good when we're not in the middle of covid-19 s. But since that started, I can't go in. I can't talk to the vet. I didn't get any follow-up call about the wild animal that I rescued and brought to them. I didn't even get to tell them anything about what happened to the animal. They just had me fill out a rabies sheet. You can't even go in when it's your pet. The person next to me had to wait while the staff carried her dog inside and vaccinated it. Sorry, but this is not good practice for a medical place.
