They will try to get away with basically any charge they want to and there is NOTHING you can do about. Load was 150lbs lighter than booked, $90 reclass. They used to be one of the better LTL carriers but now I never use them and recommend everyone else do the same until something changes. Shnucomes says don't use them.

NEVER. REPEAT. NEVER use this carrier! They will double your bill after delivery with unexpected charges. They consider just about any building "limited access." So why even bother being a freight company? Poor communication & customer service!

Not a very good experience….

Unethical carrier. Invoices never match our quote and there is a re-class / re-weigh on almost every shipment. Even when there is no discrepancy from our quote SAIA still charges us more and refuse to correct the rate. Save yourself the trouble and avoid using this carrier - ABF, ODFL, XPO, Estes, SEFL, ACT are all much better options.

I want to first say the drivers for Saia are very good very willing to help with the load. Saia has a problem with their scales. They are not accurate. They charge you for reweight/Reclassification, When in fact, the shipper has certified scales, the weight is the weight no need to recertify reclassify. I have seen with my own eyes. They put the straps on top of the product and then weigh it and say it is over weight. The process to rectify this issue is very difficult only allowed through the website. I have had Pennsylvania weights and measures go in on two occasions to recertify their scales not all of them were accurate. Some of them weren’t even able to be certified. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of choices when shipping freight
Update 9/7/24, after this post and Communication with my sales rep Donovan Smith, This has been resolved. The invoices have been corrected to the original amount. And have been paid in full.

They started out good, then like all the rest, they went downhill. A long dark hill.
3 damaged shipments in 2 days!! Serious damage too. They use the forklift to bash the boxes further into the trailer so they can stuff more on. They must hire all the 2 tooth failures out there and who obviously have not been trained in how to load a friggin truck. I'll be taking my $170 annual business elsewhere for sure.
I'm not tolerating damage to a $1,000 product.
Byea Saia!!
Here's my next move -- a shipment in the future will have hidden cameras in it. Those who do damage will be arrested for vandalism. Maybe then all these dock people will wake up.

Saia used to be one of the best LTL companies out there. Recently they've done a virtual 180. Customer service is awful, they reclass and weigh almost every shipment and even when you dispute it, they ignore you. I don't know what happened, but don't let the Saia of old trick you, they are a low value company with terrible customer service.

Not understanding what all the negative reviews are about I ordered high end customer tractor truck power plant parts on Sunday and there here now it's 1:45 on Wednesday. If you follow there instructions on there web sight. There's no problems when your ordered is shipped you go and make a appointment for delivery. And when you make that appointment you stick to it. I was told between 2 and 5pm And it shows up at 1:45pm. I give them a 10 star and I have parts delivered all day and night from all the different shippers and I have never had any problems with any of them you all need to figure out what's wrong with you or where you live or just ordering stuff or go get it yourselves. Anywho they did good. And to all of you stop giving companies bad reviews because one day you'll will have go get it yourselves. Ok remember be kind to your fellow humans and they will be kind back. Good job shipper ?? ??

Your driver damaged my property making a delivery in my neighborhood and drove away. I tried to get him to stop but just drove away.

What a nightmare. My package did not deliver when quoted and has been sitting at the 8th breakbulk station for a couple days without movement. I called and now they quoted an additional 5 days for a total of 14 days. Based on everything I am reading I guess my chances of receiving my package by the new date is very slim. If I had any idea what I was getting into I would have never placed an order to be shipped via Saia.
