Excellent hair salon with superb people and fair prices!!! Just when I thought I might not find a hair salon, after moving here and being shocked at the price for my first hair coloring and getting simply ok services for the second at a different place. When I was able to actually schedule online, felt welcome and comfortable when I walked through the door, and got excellent care from Kay--- I knew I'd found the one. I won't be going anywhere else!! I've been back twice and it's been consistently excellent!!!! Thanks, to you all!! -Laurel

I haven't had professional color nor a professional hair cut in years. My son's wedding was coming up in November so I was referred to Joanie Parker Hair Studio from a soon to be family member. Sydney was the beautiful highly professional young lady that transformed my look. My hair looks better than it has in years and she listened intently to what I was hoping to achieve and was spot on - if not better in attaining those results. I have been there twice thus far and am looking forward to my next appointment. The entire staff, including the owner are very welcoming. Even though the salon itself has a classy uptown boutique vibe, they are still warm and friendly.

I was referred to Joanie Parker, my friend says she's amazing, but she has a 4-8 week wait list for appointments. This appointment was for my son who just turned 21. So the front desk talked us into Kay, who is good with gentlemen's cuts. So on my intake form, and when we first got there to meet with Kay, we informed her he wanted a new style, and he wanted it blow dried and teach him how to style it for everyday. The cut looked good, but my son has very wavy hair kinda curly, and he wanted to keep as much length so he could push it back. He felt like the cut was good, but even at the end, we expressed that he wanted to learn how to style it and wanted her to blow dry it, and she kept blowing us off saying it wasn't necessary. He even said he would have to put a baseball hat on to flatten it. We came there because we wanted to expertise to teach him how to take care of his own hair, how to dry it and style it. Sure, most of the time he will let it dry naturally, which he said, but he really wanted to know how to style it. He walked out with his head very wet.... With a little style gel in it, which did nothing. She was adamant ab out not styling/blowing it for us like we wanted and just blue us off. We really liked her and the cut she gave him, but it really pissed me off. Why can't they listen and do what you ask -- did she lack confidence in her ability to style it for him? It's a hair studio, not a Great Clips, they should be able to do that. Especially for a $37.00 cut. I didn't mind paying more, I want him to see the potential in his hair, what it can look like. Why do people ignore what you want and give you want they want to give you --- that really sucks. I should have waited for him to get Joanie Parks like was referred. It put a bad taste, he may as well go to a high end barber shop if they aren't going to style. I wish they would make it right!
