Update on my last post about the experience I had when applying for a credit card with Georgia United the previous post was under S. Ridley. I received a phone call from the manager Brandon over loan services and he was actually on vacation with all of this happened and he apologized and it was definitely not handled in the correct manner. He took care of me and turned my secure card into a regular visa and refunded the money that had been on hold for several years for that card we also talked about a possible future personal loan. He told me that it was definitely not handled in the proper manner and he would be speaking to his team lead and his team to get them on the same Page and the same Accord as how to provide excellent customer service regardless of the situation. He made me feel like a valued Georgia United customer and promised that his goal was to make me feel that way and to see what he could do to fix the situation and turn it from a negative into a positive he definitely went above and beyond to do that. I appreciate him, Georgia United is lucky to have him and I will continue to do business with them as long as he is there. This had turned into a stressful situation and I'm very happy that he was able to turn that around. Thank you so much to Brandon and I definitely appreciate the excellent customer service that I did get from him to resolve this situation.

Since I've been with them several years and I have built my credit up I felt that maybe I can apply for a credit card since I've had a secure card with them for several years and they've been holding $600 of mine. I applied for a regular credit card and the application process was so primitive I couldn't believe it, there was nowhere to put any extra income you might receive there was nowhere to do an application with your husband or wife if you wanted to, and I couldn't get anybody to call me back after I did the application. I sent proof of my income, my husband's income as we live together and it is household income that is always what is normally considered when applying for a credit card, we have joint accounts and by law I can use my husband's income legally. I want the initial credit inquiry taken off of my credit report I'm going to close both of our accounts and my secured card and they do not have to worry about me again seems like there's some sort of unfair practices going on at this credit Union and I don't have time for it. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever.

I was told this was a headquarters whenever I was transferred over to this location to perform an auto loan application. The experience I had says otherwise.Customer service was 0 to none. It took 2 months to get a loan application processed, so long that they had to submit another one and run my credit twice. I worked with a Lacey who's response levels were so low that they switched me over to a misty who was somewhat easier to work with, but at times it was hard to get an answer from her as well.No transparency throughout loan the process at all. I have kept my patience throughout the process, but my experience was horrible and after 2 months I have been denied. This is horrible.

I have seen the decline in personal service. They have become so automated that the customer no longer matters. I just got off the phone with the rep about a survey email I received under their name. I also received notice on my account log in to watch out about texts saying our card was locked out and to not open or believe it. Next, you were to call and report . All I was told was to open an email, which I didn't want to do, then just delete a message. I never heard her look at the computer to see if they really sent the email.

Go any where else but here for an auto loan. You literally have to call for them to complete any thing. This has been one of the worse customer service experiences I have ever dealt with in life. I applied and was initially approved for an auto loan over a week ago (full 7 days) and have yet to receive the funds to complete my purchase. I have called them every day to check on status. I called them 5 times today. I thought this process would have been easy since I was a member with the credit union and I also paid off a previous auto loan with them. After recent poor experience, I looked up some reviews about the company and several others have had the same HORRIBLE experience as me. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE. Google best credit union in your area or state and read the reviews. This has been such a hassle and disgusting experience for something that is suppose to be an enjoyable fun new purchase.

Your branches state they are open to a certain time but are not. A big inconvenience for people who travel far to use you especially since you are not opened on the weekends.

I really had bad and rude experiences at Duluth branch today.The banker’s name is Simona Vasari. She is vey rude and tried to argue with me rudely. I don’t know the GUCU system so I asked different opinions to solve the issue. But tried to keep arguing with me. Finally, she asked “do you me to help or not?”of course , I said no. I wait for the branch manager. I have to wait to open CD for almost two hours. Also, the Duluth branch manager didn’t do good service, either. They’re not very professional. It ruined my day. I really don’t want to recommend GUCU to my friends anymore.

I originally came here to write a review on the absolutely poor service I received yet before I wrote this complaint I tried numerous times to contact jay the manager in the loan department I attempted to contact him by leaving numerous voicemails, and emails. I received no response. I know for a fact this credit union has the worst service but, I do know they read these messages because they want to make it seem as if they are actually professional. On today jay called me today apologizing for not getting back to me keep in mind if he actually wanted to call me back he would have as I left at least 10 messages and at least 3 emails he returned NONE. Then none of his representatives called back my loan was being processed by some lady who never called me back therefore, the young lady Darlene stepped in to help because after like 2-3 weeks nobody responded to my application Darlene was very helpful In the beginning Unfortunately she made a mistake and didn't ask me about the GAAP coverage and Jay did nothing to fix it. Mistakes happen all the times Jay could have fixed the issue If he wanted to he could have also responded to my messages but, he didn't he was too lazy just like he doesn't respond to calls and emails. Jay doesn't even do the basic thing which should have been to look at my account before calling me so he called me today only because I wrote a bad review but, JAY the loan is paid off it is no longer with Georgia United Credit Union thank your horrible customer service you are the manager yet you have the worst customer service EVER next time you decide to call a customer back you may want to check the account to make sure it's actually still owed. ****horrible credit union I think they are trained to not respond because I dealt with a few and nobody called back or this credit union is working their employee to the bone ****STAY AWAY* 12/30/22 update another sad customer service update to share with regards to this poor credit union I have been in the branch repeatedly because they continue to send my mail to the wrong address. I have never moved since I have had this account they are sending my mail to an address that isn't on my account which has opened me up to fraudulent transactions now they are refusing to dispute the charges this is the worst place ever glad I have transferred all of my 12K monthly deposits to a REAL BANK! *****PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM here they have absolutely no staff why? I suggest not only do they have poor service they treat they staff like trash****

Good luck trying to sign on to the new online banking system. So far, I have spent over 2 hours on the phone. Most of the time waiting on hold. No one knows why my account information is not accepted by the new login registration process. I cant check my account on the phone or online. The phones the customer service reps use are terrible. Twice i could barely hear the reps on the phone. The last call I made the rep transferred me to another rep….her voice was cutting on/off and I had to hang up ! Wasted another 30 minutes

This credit union will charge you for INSURANCE whether you have it or not for Car loans as well as home loans so watch your statements and automatic drafts on your accounts. Not a good financial institution to work with.

These are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in banking. I chose to take a second mortgage out with a local credit union thinking that I would have a local contact for my needs, and they might actually get to know my needs and my businesses. That is the furthest thing from the truth. I have spoken with them at least 3 times not on information I needed (they never sent me a 1098 for my loan interest for my taxes which is I think illegal) and every single time I have politely called to ask for help, they make excuses for why they can't help me, they correct me on things they are not understanding and if they would just stop and listen to what I was saying they would actually understand, they cut me off mid-sentence to state their excuse again, and are dismissive and outright arrogant and rude. I thought the first employee I had treat me that way was a possible fluke, so I let it go. The second one happened, and I wanted to leave a review or call a manager, but I was way too busy. Now this last time (while trying to do my taxes and they never sent my 1098 for the 2nd year in a row) I can't be silent anymore. It is pervasive in the organization, and I would never recommend this bank to a soul. If you want to be treated like you are an interruption and a huge inconvenience to their day, then by all means, bank with Georgia United Credit Union.

I applied for an auto loan, submitted all required paperwork and it was taking them so long to process, and no one replying to messages or calling me back for an update. I just bought the car in cash. Thanks God, I don't need a bank like this anymore.

Service when received is good but it takes too long to process anything. Either hire and train more people or stop offering things only to disappoint.
