If I could give this review negative stars I would. I have been using H&R since 2016, this is my second year using this location. I had started my return online but since I have a couple businesses I thought it would be best to swing by and see a consultant. I walked in and met with Roseann/Rosemary. She seemed highly confused by my multiple 1099's and Schedule C's. She had advised she didn't have access to the H&R Block online site to see everything I had already entered. However, we proceeded with her filing. She was confused the entire 55 minutes. She had no knowledge on what forms needed to be completed for what 1099. I had to keep telling her what forms to use which instantly raised a red flag. She proceeded... when it came to the part about "preparer doing due diligence on why tax-payer was eligible to file HOH" she put in the notes"children's father not in their lives". I instantly lost it. I stopped her and asked why she would even feel she could write that on someone's income tax return. Makes me wonder how many women she has done that too without them noticing. She said "I need to write how you are HOH". Well lady, that isn't it! Just because the father is not filing with me does not mean he is not in their lives. That is disgustingly disrespectful. She seemed bothered by me making a big deal about it. Last, she advised that the refund amount she came up with for me was FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS than what I got on the H&R Block site myself entering in all the CORRECT forms. When I advised her of this and asked about maximizing my return and a particular tax form she needed to file, she proceeded to tell me she couldn't do it. When I stated its available online and an IRS form she has to have access to. She advised me again that she doesn't have access to the same forms online and handed me back my papers. Before leaving I called corporate who advised she did indeed have access to that form. I am baffled at how she lacks knowledge and her blatant disrespect. I would hate to see how many taxes she has prepared for people that didn't know any better and she did not get them their full refund. H&R Block needs to make sure their staff is fully trained to properly utilize each form and maximize people's returns. To sum it up, I will never use this location again even if the services were free.
