From the start to the end, it was the worst experienceof my life having my wedding reception at this, Vows & Veils, place. Its definitely a regret. It started out with a warmwelcoming owner, with a lot of false promises. Yes there wasa contract, but my mistake was not to have a lawyer review thecontract and add all the promises made to have us sign the contractand hand over a security deposit. After the contract was signed, about three weeks later, the promises started to vanish, and whatwas promised to us, became additions to our venue, of course withcost. When the owner was confronted with questions, he response was"It must have been a miscommunication, because we don't lie, whatis ours is yours", but even though we saw that he had all theaccessories, he said he would rent in the back, we paid for it.You will be told stories of how they helped others, but that isto keep you calm and spend more. Four days before the wedding wemet to go over stuff, and it even got worse. None of the promiseswere left. When we wanted to question and notified him that oneof the managers, Dona, let us use some of the stuff, the ownerstarted to shout, "I am the owner, she does not matter, I candecide on this. I will give you your money back if you want...",really four days left, what a scam. And his assistant becameverbally abusive. We took a break then and my wife and I decidedto let things go, because we only had four days left, and we reallydid not want the day to be ruined. Don't get me wrong the place isnice, because the previous owner, had it done perfectly, its aftershe sold to these hustlers, it became a money laundry warehouse. The day of the wedding, we had our decoration people ready at 1pm,as promised by the owner, to set up the place. It took him an hourmore to get it ready. Even though we dealt with a dinner plate,he set out small plates, the size of a cake plate. Even thoughwe asked for a particular color for the chair sashes, 15 minutesbefore the reception, he calls me and says sorry the color is awrong one. I made sure I had professional chefs, restaurant ownersand experienced cater people that were part of our family, toprepare the food and set up. Once they start to get everythingready in the back, the owner goes back and shuts of the hot water.Even though on the contract we had couple of small heat warmers,he denied that as well. Thankfully the family had back up warmerwhich they had to use. It was electrical, so he comes out with a10 minute allowance for the electric. I am sorry but what kindof a person is he? After all this mess, my family made sure theydealt with him in the best way so that he would not mess up ourday. That day ended, and we went on our way. I finally went backto the place to retrieve the security deposit. To my surprise,he still have the guts to lie to me, that he let my family usehis full facility because he wanted to make me happy and to builda trust, is he serious?! I just did not have the words that moment,so I thanked him, and went home. What was done is done, the onlything left for me is to let everyone know what I went through. If you ever want to have a memorable reception on your wedding day, have it at another place rather than Vows & Veils, so that youwould not regret it like my wife and I.
