This is not a refinery, at least this location isn't, it's more like a magic show with plenty of "smoke and mirrors", they do look like they have a lot of fun. You give them your gold, they take to the back and melt it and no, you can't watch them. They come back with "your" gold which has been melted and give you the results, my experience was not good at all and I'm not taking about the 2% customary refiner fudge either.
