I've been meaning to write a review for Summit Auto and it's about time I do it. I've started taking my old Accord here a little over a year ago and I can't say enough good things about the level of service. I've had regular maintenance work done, as well as some major issues with engine oil leaks and even some collision damage. Every single time it's been honest and fair pricing, the job done right, and in a timely manner. I know that smaller shops sometimes struggle with timing compared to a large dealership, but Summit has always been good about letting me know when they will work on my car and they stick to it. Makes it so much easier to plan when you only have one vehicle at home. The staff is responsive and extremely knowledgeable from their many years of experience. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Update based on their response: The fix they made for my clutch/transmission situation was the wrong call according to my friend who owns an auto shop. My previous clutch lasted 100k miles. This one went out in 8 months, less than 20k miles later.
My friend’s shop is too busy to work on my car, so I took it to Summit in the first place.
Original post: I don’t have the energy to write what all happened with Summit but I don’t recommend them. I will add more when I have time to flesh it all out.

These folks are great, from the office staff to the mechanics. They've always been super helpful and one of the few shops I trust to work on my old Volvo.
Plus, when my girlfriend's Hyundai engine seized and we had it towed there, they found right warranty/recall information (that I couldn't find online) and walked me through process of getting it fixed by Hyundai (and paid for Hyundai too) - plus they didn't even charge me for all the help! They could have tried to talk me into paying for a new engine, but instead they looked out for me.
Their shop time pricing is fair, they're honest, and they've always done the job pretty fast. Very glad they're nearby!

I have been bringing my cars to Summit for about the past 10 years ... they always do a great job and at a reasonable price. When Summit repairs your vehicle - you'll know it is done right! Mark and Sam are knowledgeable and professional. You can tell that they treat the mechanics like family, too. It seems like a good work environment.

Took in my Honda after my check engine light came on. They repaired the issue and some leaks they found. The day I picked it up my battery light came on. Few days later broke down in the middle of the intersection and changed my battery. Battery light was still on. Took it to summit and was told the battery light wasn’t coming on any more. When I picked up my car the radio was working which was odd because my radio didn’t work before which makes me think they did work on my car idk? All I know is my car broke down again after the battery light came on again.
Not sure if they didn’t want to work on my car. Made a mistake and didn’t want to be liable. I have no idea but this whole thing has been very inconvenient because I essentially haven’t had a working car for 3 weeks.
Oh also my car full ran when I brought it. It hadn’t broke down before.
Edit:
When I brought in the car, the battery light was on. And never in my review did I say that the shop claimed the light would never come on (that makes no sense and no mechanic an make that claim)
Additionally, I checked the codes on my car before taking it in, but only one of the many codes that appeared were addressed. I assumed the mechanics had done their investigation and realized the additional codes were false reads. (FYI I did ask about these codes and was reassured it was not an issue) Now, those codes have reappeared.
I'd like to also add that because this shop did not do their due diligence, I came into harms way while operating my vehicle TWO times.
For a better understanding of why I am leaving a poor review here is a list of things wrong with my car that were not a problem when I originally brought it in:
My AC/Heat no longer runs properly
My Passenger window no longer works
My alternator stopped functioning properly
My original battery died out (due to an improper function of my alternator)
So far I've spent an additional $300 in car repairs after taking my car here and anticipate spending another $300 to get my car running properly. This is BEFORE the cosmetic issues such as my AC and window.
So all in all, I would not go here.

Good people. Once I asked for bids from several different auto shops for a problem and Summit's was by far the lowest. I've trusted their pricing ever since.

I called to ask for information about some parts for a car and the workers do not know what they sell or what they are doing in that place. It is a shame that it is a very large company and they have people who have no experience. I do not know what is happening to them. To this large company why does it not have trained people?

This shop has been was recommended to me in high regard from an old friend who has been using them on his cars for I think 20+ years. I took my 2017 Honda Civic there because it was having AC issues. They diagnosed it and advised me that it could be the compressor but it was a part that was under Honda warranty and referred me to the dealership to check before I paid for this costly repair. I went to the Honda Dealer Service Dept and they fixed the problem with no cost out of pocket and said they would fix it again if it broke. Summit Auto Service is honest and fair. I will use them again. I wish they repaired German CarsService: A/C installation & repair
